On the authenticity of the good heres a story: I was on holiday in Thailand and on the last night, met a south African guy with a bag full of Levi buttons and those red tags for jeans etc. So what they'd do is ship the jeans unbranded. The branding travels separately. Once in the country they sew the branded bits on easily and send to the stores in, say, Sandton - what you'd consider "legitimate store". So, the long & short is... you may never ever know a knock off from the real deal. EVER...

When it comes to branded goods in general (even those bought from the original retailer i.e a Nike shoe from a Nike store) it is virtually impossible to prove authenticity but not as difficult to prove if it's fake depending on the workmanship. There is no real way to prove the authenticity of branded goods
