NAMSEOK : Namjoon And Hobi Being Painfully Awkward With Each Other

BTS teases Namjoon and Hobi for being awkward with each other. And I kinda see why... BTS is never shy about pointing out Namjoon and Hobi's awkwardness with each other, but NAMSEOK had always denied this observation.
A staff member put the "NAMSEOK being awkward together" issue to rest by sharing that Hobi chose Namjoon as someone he would want to travel with in a previous interview. Just so you know, Namjoon also picked Hobi in a separate interview.
While NAMSEOK are obviously close, Hobi understands why people think they are awkward with each other. He also previously admitted that his relationship with Namjoon is 1%complicated. But this revelation had nothing to do about their friendship. Respecting age and seniority is very important in Korean culture. But Namjoon being younger than Jin, Yoongi, and Hobi and being the group's leader, made things a little complicated for them.
Namjoon and Hobi may not be as vocal and showy with each other as they are with the other members, but their closeness is undeniable.
So, yes. The awkwardness that we see is just two guys trying to balance their relationship as close friends and co-workers.

I agree. They are close in age and in a way Hobi looks up to Namjoon and Vice versa. Namjoon isn’t comfortable in expressing his affection physically as well, in contrast with Hobi. I think of them as two brothers, about 18 months apart. So Namjoon looks up to Hobi, and they see each other as a support system but due to their age they may not be as carefree as they are around the others

If you think about it none of the hyung line are affectionate with each other. They’re only affectionate with the maknae line. Hobi will wrap his arm around their shoulders when he laughs but nothing affectionate like with the younger ones, like Jimin.

Somehow i think they used to be very awkward up until Bon voyage 3 but i guess in bon voyage 3 something happened maybe because they shared room so they bonded their friendship grew and took a 360° turn . Now they are literally inseparable. You will always find Joon talking about Hobi ( Hoba as he calls him) . Joon is literally so freaking soft when it comes to Hobi like have you ever noticed how that man looks at him with so much love and admiration.After Vmin i guess Namseok is my favourite duo ever. Their friendship seems so genuine and pure. Joon even cried when Hobi was leaving for his military services also i love how they were the first person who heard each other solo album if that doesn't screams soulmates i dont what will. But i enjoyed the video very much as always its funny to watch how awkward and weird they used to be 🤣. (Also Sope doesn't count in this because sope is my ultimate they are literally my life)

They may look awkward, but it's because we can't expect their relationship to be similar than the ones they have with the other members. Namjoon is not the touchy type, nor he does aegyo very often. Hobi is, but he respects him as his leader so he draws the line of what he's comfortable with. And they love each other a lot, I'll fight anyone who denies it. They just have different ways to show it. Just see how sad was Namjoon when Hobi had to go to the military. He was so sad he had to drink that day. But you can still hear how his voice breaks and how he's holding his tears. I bet he actually cried a lot; I don't blame him, they took away his brother 🥺

3:47 RM’s relationships with both J-Hope and Suga feel awkward sometimes. I think it’s because a lot of their off camera time together is spent working on music and planning performances. J-Hope and Suga can turn it off some time to goof around with the younger ones, but as leader, RM probably never turns it off. He spends a lot of time in his head. Every time he opens his mouth something profound comes out. So I think he and J-Hope spend a lot of their time in work mode or in deep in conversation, like he said in the clip. Not the buddy buddy friendship that’s fun to watch on TV, but a close bond nonetheless. Thank goodness for the maknae line, especially the 95z, for getting him out of his head sometimes.

I can totally understand the relationship being "99% close, 1% complicated", them both being the same age, but Namjoon is the leader. However, in my case because I'm very socially awkward and bearing in mind that not everyone's personalities match up with each other 100%, there can be some awkwardness, even with people I'm very close to. Namjoon and Hobi have alot to handle making sure they are respectful of eachothers positions of seniority while also maintaining the closeness of their friendship which obviously means so much to both of them. It's quite the juggling act, so of course it's going to look a little awkward every now and again, but they seem to have it down pat mostt of the time these days, and I really do love them together.

They 2 are just like brothers in real life - the one you feel awkward with, sometimes teasing badly (they both outspoken sometimes with each other) but deep down, you really can't live without each other as you're being relied to each other. Being same age with opposite personalities can be hard sometimes when just two of them alone but when complete ot7, they can be goofy and not feeling awkward anymore.

I love the bond between Namjoon and Hobi.. I do think it is a little difficult with the leader/age thing on occasion.. but that's to be expected... I know they both light up when they're around each other and I'm sure they spend a decent time away from the cameras together... Namjoon also was physically upset at Hobi's enlistment ... Namseok is awkward bcuz RM is awkward (and we love him for it). Sometimes it's easy to forget that RM is smack in the middle of the Hyung and Maknae line and, I mean this respectfully, is a baby compared to the older members. A good leader, responsible and intelligent, yes but you can really see his inner child come out when he does something he loves, like going to art museums or catching critters at the beach or forest (soop). RM and Hobi may have different interests but when they are doing something they both enjoy together, the awkwardness fades and they're really cool together.
