Il y a des années que je cherche cet hommage à Oum Kalsoum, entendu en live à Voiron ( Isère, France) pendant une tournée en Province de Nana en 1995; retrouvé depuis sur l'album grec de 1988 "I mythi mia gynekas" . Mille bravos Nana et mille mercis à Denistt.

Absolutely impressive! This song is part of the album “I mithi mias gynaikas” (Legend of a woman) released in 1988. That album was the Nana’s last album with two of her friends and also mentors, composer Manos Hadjidakis and poet Nikos Gatsos, a few years before the two passed away. The twelve songs on that album are dedicated to love, to beauties of the world, to nostalgia for the loved ones who are gone. This song is Nana’s favorite song from that album (as Nana said in her book “Memoirs”), which pays homage to the Egyptian singer Oum Kalsoum (d. 1975), who was Nana’s idol. Nana with her magic voice sings it with so much pathos and sensitivity. In this video Nana is 60 years old, but she is amazingly beautiful as always. Thank you Nana Mouskouri, Manos Hadjidakis and Nikos Gatsos the three iconic personalities of the Greek culture! Thanks denistt that you have shared this superb video with Nana’s fans.

Yes, you are true that Nana was 54 years old when appeared this album, but that clip is from the concert MEGAPO Athens 1994 when Nana was 60 years old.😊
