Hi, Did you experiment with different types of fan before opting for a pc fan? I have a small air pump for inflating airbeds, hope I can use that.

Hi Fred Intheshed... no I had a spare pc fan and I said I'll try that and it worked...! The key is adjusting air flow so that you have the right amount of pressure to lift husks over the top and you adjust that by the size of the holes for input as well as output..! Good luck

Hi Ouchy, Oh dear! I built the box, attached the pump, trickled in the seeds and - mayhem erupted inside the box and seeds spurted out of every tiny gap and up through the funnel, mess everywhere ha ha he he. Obviously this pump was much too powerful. I tried again with a little USB desk fan but that was too feeble. Should've paid attention to you and used a PC fan. Is it a case fan or a processor fan? Thanks, Fred

Hey Fred... sorry to hear about your result... must have had quite a bit of cleaning to do I imagine. I just used a pc case fan with 2000 rpm that I had from an old tower...!:)

Hi! I'am interested how many revs ventilator have? What is the optimal minimum and maximum of revs?
@ouchygabouchy6 жыл бұрын
Hi Valentino... its just an ordinary pc fan with a normal speed of between 2000 and 2200 rpms. The trick is... adjusting the airflow leading out to have the most efficient pressure possible... good luck

Hello, I am trying to build the similar seed separator machine. It almost works, but I am having some problems. It sorts the seeds from the husks, but not completely. How many degrees should the angles be and how powerful should the fan be? If you can also provide any schematics that would be useful. Thank you

Hello Tutunaru Ruslan... sorry I have no schematics...! I just saw a similar one online and tried to build it as close as possible...! I used a computer fan and the important thing to remember is not let any air come out on the seeds side and also limit the air output on husk side and that should give the air more pressure to flip the husks over... good luck...:)
