Nanahira's voice will have enough enthusiasm from other Japanese artists because the amount of people she shared has just been growing. I do enjoy this documentary on her because of several reasons. One of which is that even though the loli voice of her spreads across even more, it's more impressive that she has some potential for being off key as well. The second reason is also that the music could explain more of an extreme variation of generes such as the couple of terms you used where they might even know how to count them off, which is amazing. The third reason is that there are so many people out there that have the "full damper" mode you so such say, which could also lead into her advertisments. This also leads into the shear responsability she gets on getting an very wide range. I might be based, but these are such great reasons that you might not think of which makes her quite the person in Rythm games.

Damn I did NOT know that And I’m sure a million people have already commented this but she’s not a Vocaloid, she’s an UTAU which is more like a home made DIY Vocaloid programme. I’ve known of her voice in so many different ways without realising! I first knew her name as the Vtuber but I’ve known of Nana the UTAU since about 2015 and I’ve heard that voice in Camellia songs since about 2017. I never knew they were ALL THE SAME PERSON! Just to clarify Denpa has a multitude of meanings. In light novel, you might stumble across denpa girls, which are characterized by out of the world behaviors and one of a kind logic (in a positive way ofc). And then there is the negative connotation that derived from the case as a mysterious “electrical wave” ordered the mass murder. At last, you can view denpa as its literal meaning “electrical wave”, which often is synonymous with vocal pods and remixes because they are modern and “electro-funky” if this is a word lol. I think the last definition makes the most sense though.

This is really intriguing to watch as someone who actually learned of Nanahira in kind of a backwards way. As a long-time fan of Vocaloid and vocal synth in general, I had known about Haruka Nana and had kind of been obsessed with her for YEARS before I ever heard a single song from Nanahira. Nowadays I'm an avid fan of both Haruka Nana and Nanahira, but it's pretty cool to see how Nanahira came to be the phenomenon she is today, and even get a small bit of insight on Haruka Nana's inception as well. By the way, I will say that Haruka Nana's voice bank as a whole definitely improved since the version that can be heard in "GET AWAY!" but it's still definitely not for everyone, and her popularity has taken a nose dive over the years. The few people who still stick with her though, are VERY good at tuning her voice, and in some cases they're capable of making her sound nearly as good as the real Nanahira. If you want some fantastic examples of how Haruka Nana can sound in the modern day, I'd recommend the following covers (just plug each one into a YT link after the ?, since I don't think YT lets you put full links in comments). Interesting watch. Even though I dabbled in NND a bit back in the day, I don't remember when I first heard of nanahira, it just became a name I had seen here and there in writing to someone who was making waves, almost overnight (that's just how it felt lol, I watched the video) Just a note that Nana Haruka, the voicebank created from nanahira's voice, is classified as an UTAU or utauloid or however you want to refer to them, but not a vocaloid. Utau is a freely available software and while there are often terms of usage for voicebanks you can download freely to use with it, this is still different to the terms of usage you'd get with vocaloid because you're buying a license in those cases, and most of the time creating commercial works is something you can do with vocaloid licenses. Also, it would probably have been a much bigger deal if a company had purposely scouted her to be the voice provider for a commercialised, fully fledged voicebank, vocaloid or otherwise.

It's because culturally they fall into the categorization, much more so than most utaus save fan favourites like teto. Very interesting hearing this story as it quite differs from my memory and experience - see I first discovered touhou music vocal mixes in 2011 and even back then youtube had a recommended system (had to be in the /recommended and all) and Nanahira's monosugoi flan-chan was one of the first songs that made it to my recommended. The very same video is still there now with 5.5mil views uploaded in 2010, it is labeled under Halozy and doesn't actually mention the name Nanahira anywhere, but once I heard other Halozy songs it was very obvious that it was not all the same person and looking up the album then resulted in easily finding Nanahira mentioned. From which point youtube algorithm did it's thing and I got lot of obscure Nanahira songs in my recommended (just copypasta from NND) But even as someone who didn't understand much Japanese back then youtube had plenty of very popular Nanahira songs uploaded there (unofficially) and she seemed very popular. It might be skewed as I then started hanging out with people of similar interests who also happened to like Nanahira but generally she was quite well known even in the western scene before Camellia or rhythm game madness, maybe more so between more of a female audience with the style of songs back then. Based on my impression I would give the majority of thanks of introducing me Nanahira to Halozy as having the 100-500k view videos on youtube back then was I would say considered fairly popular and that was in 2011. And of course it was Nanahira herself who just released a song after song even during the 2009-2012 and managed to capture the hearts of so many fans. One thing that Camellia definitely helped with was introduce the already fairly popular cutesy song Nanahira to an audience of dubstep and jcore and similar styles of beat, which she didn't do before. While I was never fan of those genres myself and prefer the more cute style of songs like what she started with or some of the recent stuff with Korone Pochi Big Cheese and such, I can see why it would bring lot of people to discover her. So yea I guess it does make sense that her popularity grew more after expanding from the purely "girly" style songs with animal noises and whatnot to still cute songs but backed by more aggressive beat and rhythm songs with Camellia, essentially doubling her audience. Nice video though learned about how it was to discover Nanahira from a different perspective than mine and I hope many more people discover her after this too all in their own ways, she is extremely talented and hard working. I was actually waiting for her to be recruited by some vtuber agency, as has happened with other utaite in the recent years but she might prefer the more calm music production she has been doing for over a decade now :) . Only time will tell~

I remember that day. I was chillin. Doin my stuff at work. I decided to listen to some Demon Dice on Spotify. I didnt queue anything after so it went into rando stuff. And thats how it played me her Bassbook song. And just as the beginning of this video said. I was lying to myself that I dont like her cause she sounds weird. Now Im just honest with myself. Shes incredible. Very addictive voice, with music that is just enjoyable to listen to. Really nice to see her history. Great video mate.

As a casual rhythm game enjoyer, I don't usually give a fuck to songs as long as it sounds good and challenging but this vid is very compelling to me.
