My trick for washing strawberries (and cherry tomatoes, too) is to dunk them in a bath of half water half white vinegar, and leave them for about 5 minutes. Then I rinse them, put them in one layer on a baking sheet or plate or whatever covered with a kitchen towel or paper towel to air dry, and THEN put them in a clean container in the fridge. The vinegar kills the bugs and prevents mold, so the strawberries/tomatoes last longer.
