My personal opinion. Knowing this season would be the last = ruined this show. Horrible! It does not make sense :@ You cannot tell me that the "big reveal" is that Nancy's soul's past life was as the creator of the sin eater 💤. They could have created a 1000% better outline for this last season - instead we get this "fluff" - a lot of this season has been lazy 💤, and insulting quite frankly - given the promise this show started with.

They were already in production apparently when they found out - so I would say the final episodes suffered from frantically written rewrites to give the story some kind of ending. if you compare were the story was going at the start of this season, to how rushed it was in the final few - you can tell they condensed it.

Sadly they were filming episode 10 when they found out. They were sure they would be getting another season which is why things feel rushed and some minor ends left hanging (justice for Chunky Valez). I really would love to know what the original plan was for the season finale + beginning of 5. If only the CW had said we are cancelling you but we are giving you one last season (5) to wrap the story. I suspect we would have gotten a way better flow for the sin eater/Callie/etc story line. And we may have even gotten a more natural lead up to Nace.
