Nancy Drew: Mystery of the Seven Keys - Secret Ending

Hi, Marigold here! I can confirm that I DID NOT need all the achievements to unlock the secret ending. I unlocked only the following and got the secret ending on my first playthrough in Jr Detective mode: Full Deck, Tourist, It's Locked, Bilingual, and Barista. EDIT: Obviously post-ending I then also unlocked the following: Trivia Tamer, Like a Local, Two in One, and Like Father Like Nancy. I can't recall exactly what else I did in-game that might have helped to trigger the ending unfortunately (i.e. looking at an object or certain dialogue).

I have seen multiple people claim they got the secret ending, with only five achievements. However, they all seem to disagree on which five achievements are the correct ones. Maybe there's an element of randomness to it.

@@arglefumph Perhaps it's not all five achievements? Maybe it's only two or three that overlap between all these other playthroughs. I have yet to test it out myself but I'm thinking maybe Full Deck + Tourist + Like A Local (which would only unlock after the ending to get the last word) -Marigold

Yeah at the end of this game I expected the original owner to be revealed and expected it to her family. Glad it was revealed in this ending.

Wow, even with the brightness down, that inscription was still pretty difficult to read 😅 That's cool that there's this secret ending though! It gives you something to work towards with multiple playthroughs, which is nice

I think what happened to cause the delay in solving was when you accidentally removed the triangle piece and put it back immediately -- it put it back in the original (wrong) orientation, rather than your "solved" orientation.

I got sooo stuck on the pearls. Thanks for the still because that will be helpful, also the hint to change the brightness, that would have done wonders for me. Thanks, get a kitty! haha!

The secret ending isn't unlocked by getting all the achievements, it's actually bugged and glitched out for different people. During the ending cutscene, some people may notice the game has a black loading screen for a split second. This is where the secret ending is supposed to begin, but the programming of the game bugs and doesn't activate it, sending the player to the final choice of making the phone call to end the game. My game is one of these bugged versions. It's initially meant to be pretty easy for anyone to get, but no one really knows quite what triggers it to be unlocked. From what is generally agreed on is, you have to have the necklace, the gems, and have specific conversations and observe certain things in the endgame sequence for Nancy to want to put the necklace together.

I still have not been able to activate this ending. I don't want to redownload the game again (Which I assume has been patched by now) because Her Interactive makes getting this game so much more complicated than it needs to be.

I wonder if once you get the specific required achievement (whichever it is), you'll get this ending every time after. I'm a completionist, so I played the game twice. The first time I was making sure every eye was dotted and t was crossed and got the ending. The second time I only did the minimum (as I only needed the Master and had to call a different person achievement) and I still got the secret ending much to my despair as I did *not* want to do the puzzle again lol!

Wouldn't that inscription have been there before the jewels are removed in the first place? And the jewels would have been in the right places, wouldn't they? So, all Adela would have had to do was turn the necklace over.

Love Nancy Drew, but I'll admit this ending puzzle made me mad lol! It took almost 2 hours for me to get right and the fact that you can't save it at this point to take a break and come back to it later is devilish. I slaved trying to get the game perfect to make sure I'd get the ending, the least HerInteractive could have done was make this a teensy weensy bit easier 😂
