I own NVDA and AVGO. Although I enjoy the recent rally in AVGO, I really have no idea why it has exploded since earnings. Their earnings and forecasts were not that spectacular.

Broadcom is designing special purpose AI chips for Google, Meta and others like Tiktok. Nvidia is designing general purpose AI Chips. So there is no direct competition. A different approach. Google did publish the first AI chip (tpu) in 2016, so Broadcom has a very long AI history. In fact NVidia did announce this year that Nvidia wants to develop special purpose chips too.
