Emperor's children will be the next faction without a doubt, shame really as SnowPrint should be allowed more freedom in what factions they want to release, I'm waiting for a fully fleshed NightLords codex with new post heresy era characters. I don't know what the next Imperial faction will be after the release of the next Choas faction possibly Salamanders, I don't think we will be seeing Custodes or Grey Knights for a good while, as the saying goes save the best for last.

Dude, this is exactly the type of developer/reporter style interaction that we want. Man it makes me feel so good to hear you bring up the same concerns (and kudos) that we have and to hear their response to you. I hope you had fun on your holiday, and I'll cross my fingers for Farsight for you. Funny though that the snowprint rep was represented by Aun'Va and your favorite character in the range is Farsight, considering their friction in-universe. I know it was just a graphic, but subconsciously maybe does this represent your differing viewpoints and frictions that still ultimately point toward the same end goal? (that being, making tacticus great)

I wondered the exact same thing. My favorite characters, in order, are Sharrowkyn, Farsight, and Shrike. When I saw the representative of the SN guy as an Ethereali was like.... Oh no.... Also..... How bad ass would it be if Farsight was available to the Tau AND Khorne?

I don't care if my campaigns would be plotless, but I want campaign for each faction. Completing campaigns are most interesting long-term goal, that require me to build characters I would never build otherwise.

Thats awesome about the PC/Mac client, hopefully they will build an API so some limited data like owned characters and their stats can be exported or automatically pulled to things like the Tacticus Planner. Other games like raid shadow legends allow this and it is so useful for building community apps and guides to help direct new players to which characters are worth upgrading, which game modes they are useful for, where to focus upgrades, etc. You could even develop a Nandi companion app :) like HellHades did for Raid.

I'm glad to hear they are recognizing the disconnect between their advertising and the availability of characters in-game. The anecdote about the Blood Angels perfectly describes my entrance to the game, and while I am still enjoying it, it definitely rubs me the wrong way that the characters being advertised are so incredibly inaccessible to a new player.

This video is especially appreciated. The plans for Tacticus in 2025 sound great and it's very nice to heard about the process by which Snowprint goes about designing new campaigns, designing new characters and evaluating what aspect of the game requires attention. It's a welcome counterbalance to the Reddit doomerism and baseless rumours that occasionally even seems to infect even the KZbin comment sections of certain Tacticus videos. ^^

As usual nandi is bringing the most valuable and useful info about the game to us. this video really explained a lot of what goes on from the SP side and what we can expect. Really seems like they are aware of many of the issues and have plans to fix a lot of them. Not gonna lie when i first saw this video i was hoping we would get a nadi “face reveal” live vid. Alas it will have to wait.

As much as I have criticisms about the game, I’m extremely optimistic about its future and the team behind it. I get where they say they can’t and don’t want to make all characters OP, but there are so many that are sooooo close with being relevant, but are just that little nudge short. That’s why I’d love to see more tweaks with older characters vs full reworks.

For the characters locked due to exclusive events.. why not just give us 5 underpowered 'common' units for every faction and a survival mode that lets us grind for shards of characters for that faction. It seems a very simple and obvious solution. The models already exist for the most part due to mirror campaigns and such or could be re-skins in other cases. It brings more variety to the rosters for factions, with Flayed Ones, Deathmarks, Eldar Guardians, Wraithguard etc. without making the campaigns significantly easier to complete as the units dont have special abilities/have lower base stats/cap out at a certain rank/rarity. It adds more variety to the game, and reuses existing assets to do so. Least work, maximum reward and solves the problem they've seemingly been unable to address for 2 years.

This is so exciting! I am glad to hear they are worried about the new player experience and how to reintroduce those characters. Having a healthy player base is extremely important and if you cannot retain players past the first few levels then the game is doomed to fizzle out. I started to play the last day of the Titus event. The current new player experience is certainly still fun, but there is so much that is simply missed if you haven't been playing since the beginning. Legendary characters and whole factions are locked behind these events and even then the events take months to complete. I am very pleased to hear there is more options coming.

I just hope it's not like what Final Fantasy Record Keepers used to do, where it was basically little story events that you would have to start over on from the beginning every time they rolled back around. Like an event would start that covered a specific part of an old game, you'd beat it for the rewards, and then in a few months again, they'd do another event that covered 90% of the same story, and you'd have to replay it all from scratch to farm materials all over again. It got really boring having to redo the same story 100 times for the sake of progression rewards like that.

Thanks for all the info! I hoped they would make second tau faction, Farsight enclave. That would be nice, especially, if they made new campaign where you could use both tau factions. (maybe tau vs nurgle?) One can dream :D Faction wars is more fun, than normal arena, as you said, no meeting the same meta. I do not enjoy survival mode that much, but that is me problem, not they problem. :D

After playing Tacticus for more than 1 year, I feel the game still have many issues but as long as SP able to balance their corporate overlord interest with the player experience quality properly, there are still plenty room for improvements.

pausing the video at the parasite showcase, judging by the fact that it gets a little lightup animation when neuro (a unit with synapse trait) moves next to it, I can safely assume that the parasite doesn't have the synapse trait. also, I assume it gets a similar passive ability to snotflogga, summons one ripper swarm whenever it moves or attacks or smth. god damn I can't wait for the parasite, 15th here I come

They already released all the info on parasite in a draupnir video i believe, so you can watch that for all the exact info. From what i remember it does not have synapse weirdly and it does summon similar to snotflogga and has an active somewhat similar to snotty. Seems like a powerful unit for sure

Although I have been dying to get Farsight (I love the T'au & him: TauSupremacy in-game) I am terrified of him releasing in an LRE soon because I know I have nowhere near the roster level required. I only have two gold characters & as you mentioned there really is no catch up mechanics so I & many other newer players are screwed. The worst part is longterm players with completed elite campaigns can easily level new characters up to gold, whereas it takes considerable time for me. I just don't think it's feasible for me to unlock a legendary character from an event f2p any time soon. Really don't want to miss out on Farsight though, especially not when I missed out on all the T'au, minus Re'vas & Tsonji.

Quest events have more variation than Survival, each level is unique and more like a puzzle to solve. As a new player you can't expect to reach max points, but don't worry about it, even veterans have trouble with quests that require characters we have not invested in. Nox Tempest and sometimes Nandi make walkthrough videos of these events if you get stuck.

Happy for mr and mrs Nandi to visit snowprint, but downside to tacticus atm and since launch, my 30k account has the pvp choice of 1.3mill, 900k or 600k. PvP NEEDS a serious rework, i dont mind a difficult fight but do enlighten me how 30k is supposed to beat 1.3 mill/900k/600k???
