Nandos vs. Santam - an epic ad duel

In 2012, Santam (a South African insurance company) aired an ad featuring Sir Ben Kingsley. In April that year, Nandos released a spoof of the ad, using it to promote their menu options. The result was an ad duel like none other.

When I was applying for uni I wanted to get into a marketing class with the specific aim of getting into the Nandos marketing team! Because they simply are the best sadly I went for accounting and I hate it should have re applied when I was turned down for a marketing degree 😖

can't stop thinking about how gangster Nandos is. Damn. There's a time when one of their ads got banned from SABC and i think a few days later there was a fire at SABC, which destroyed a whole lot of their studios including Isidingo set. Nandos released an ad to diss them for that....it was really funny....coz it was like "you banned our ad and your studio get burnt".
