For those who don’t know this is actually an inertia drift. The initial flick of the car gives it the rotational inertia to lose traction and enter a drift. This is also referred to as a Scandinavian flick.

@@LimaBr_ He actually had less speed when exiting the corner, but was able to get on the throttle sooner. This is really only effective on sharp corners which is why its such a staple of downhill touge driving. Because youre able to get on the throttle quicker, you are able to accelerate more effectively out of a corner. This paired with downhill corners makes it even quicker.

What if there was no flick and this was just an inertial transition between the corners? Hm? Scandinavian flick is usually used to initiate the drift, to clear the corner with less understeer, and there is no smooth transition, it's just a flick to the side, and then drift to the opposite side. Inertia drift is usually used to clear the sequence of corners, making fast and smooth transition without breaking the drift and therefore losing momentum. They're both inertial, but Scandi flick is a braking drift with a transition to the opposite side, and inertial drift is a smooth momentum transition drift between the corners. That's why Scandinavian flick and inertia drift are different things. In the video he did an inertial drift, not a scandi flick.

Tbh I didn’t realize there was other ways to drift until I was like 18. I always used the body weight to break the rear tires loose growing up those dirt roads are great practice but have to prepare for when the tires bite on asphalt lost a few cars learning 😢😂

Speed style drift!!!! Only way to efficiently win in a situation like this! Showboat drift and you can’t keep speed but you look really good! Only on narrow tracks like this, with really tight, narrow radius, does drifting become faster in grip..
