raptureboi It would be useless, you and me can buy graphene oxide at graphenea (or ebay, or amazon) for less than 200$, and we can do exactly the same (burn it on the DVD player) on our computers (I'm going to suppose you're writing on a computer with a DVD player). It's game over, MILLIONS of people have DVD recorders and if things got dire we could even try to get graphene from graphite. Oil is agonizing, and the question of its death is not if but when.

What is "graphite oxide" (0:37)?

Had this idea of ultra capacitors replacing power grids where the guy who come by to fill your propane tank also drops off the ultracap to get you through the winter with heat and electricity. Any hope for this soon?

If they can get at least ten times the amount of recharges (compared to batteries) and if they can hold as much charge as batteries, the new nano-caps would make hoverboards practical. With batteries it would cost 2 dollars for each 2 minute run (just for battery cost). That's cos the batteries would not last long, with only a thousand recharges before they are worn out. But with the nano-caps, maybe you can get an "infinite" amount of recharges. The Holy Grail for hoverboards. And with solar&wind power, hoverboarding would be really cheap (instead of ridiculously expensive, like it would be with batteries).

And powerfull lobby buy this technology . see you un 30 Yeats :(

Lobby already took care for us taking so long to get here. But with free information flow progress is harder to stop we just have to be informed and vote for the things we need. All that is stopping our progress is ignorance.

dorcas dorc You cannot buy that technology. Graphite oxide is sold in the internet at a relatively cheap price, and DVD players are available on almost any computer on earth. If lobbies are buying this technology, it's not to hide it under the rug: it's to be ready to make more money when their current moneycow stops giving milk. You are right, however: Repsol has financed Graphenea. But I don't think that's for closing Graphenea (another similar company would be opened), but to have a safeguard when oil becomes useless or extremely cheap.
