Spoose and BooBear exploring Taiwan in October of 2023. Taichung: Part 6 of 19.
Prior to the Japanese occupation, there were two temples located on the shores of the Sun Moon Lake. However, since a dam was constructed and raised the water level, the temples had to torn down and consolidated. As tourism was developing around the lake, the government rebuilt it again in 1969, increasing its size and constructing it in a Chinese palace style. There is the giant gate leading to the Back Mountain Park and also a great view of the lake from the third floor of the temple.
