I just learned of her last night doing my genealogy. She is my 7th great grandma. Her daughter Elizabeth was my 6th Great grandma. So cool that this woman made a play about her. I plan to paint a painting of her based on other images of her.

My American Women Studies class states Nancy Ward had no children. BUT her famous speech she talks about her many grandchildren. I wrote that it was because the Cherokee nation who had no name for orphan would automatically adopt children and Nancy was speaking to all the children and grandchildren that she adopted. I am glad you are living prove that she did have her own children too. I know a descendent named Nora Ward. Do you have a family tree to see where she fits in. I am pretty sure she was Cherokee and Chatraw nation of the Arkansas tri-state area.

She us my great grandmother. I am Vwra Ellen's grandchild. Vera was her youngest. Throughout my life I've been forced to either embrace or ignore my indian heritage 😮. At least 1/2 of my family has always ignored or put the brakes on any of us acknowledging anything

I keep finding Nancy in my cooper family tree and can't seem to sort it all out she was never married to a man named Issac cooper so where do they get that she was married to him ? Did she have a cousin named Nancy Black Fox? So many questions and I've tried to sort it out but can't figure it out
