@Rokhaya Ndiaye in all honesty, i wouldn't include Donyale Luna in that list. she seemed to have a complex about being called Black. i can understand with the social climate of her era, but i personally don't think she should be romanticized as Black when she tried to distance herself from it.

MY TWO QUEENS TOGETHER! OMG! I cannot express how I've been TOUCHED AND INSPIRED by these women's words of wisdom and encouragement. As a brown gay boy I used to read Iman's mythical origin story in the newspapers and be completely AT AWE, and until this very day I am mesmerized not just by the UNMATCHED beauty, but the WARMTH and INTELLIGENCE that Queen Iman emanates. I remember vividly when she was the face of Tia Maria and presented the award for the Most Spectacular Costume at Miss World 1994, which coincidentally my country Venezuela won! Hearing Iman pronounced the name of my country was sign to me! My Queen had acknowledged me in a way! LOL ! She is the embodiment of beauty, class and above all KINDNESS. Her laugh is infectious and beautiful I found myself smiling with her all along! Then my other queen Naomi, who has been vilified as a selfish, problematic diva time and time again by the media and here she is : Offering us inspiration and building community for us all...showcasing the motherland and its creatives, bringing issues to the forefront and lending her voice to the voiceless! What a tribute to your mom and her work Queen Naomi! We love to see the growth!
