I don't hate Inoue-Ball, but I desperately want to see Inoue-Nakatani at the Tokyo Dome next year.
@PunchPerfectBoxing2 ай бұрын
I understand the casual argument but Inoue isn’t a worldwide superstar, and Ball isn’t even a big name in the UK yet. Inoue vs Nakatani would be a bigger fight in Japan alone, than Inoue vs Ball worldwide.

Why is people not understanding that it's not a promotional fight deal. It's a sponsorship deal. Which basically means inoue will make money by doing nothing other than filming commercials for Saudi.

@MarkH-z82 ай бұрын
I think Inoue plans to fight 3 times next year and his team already have a fight plan in mind. Both Inoue and Junto have suggested in recent interviews they're willing to fight and could be end of next year. Junto could be moving up sooner than he planned of 2 more fights and Inoue said if that "young fighter" aims for the p4p no.1 spot, then he will wait for him. So next year could be something like MJ in Saudi, Picasso in the US and Junto in Japan. Turki deal is just sponsorship for now. So when he is done at 122, the champs at 126 could have some defenses or unify to have established champs to have bigger fights. Inoue didn't rule out fighting in Saudi but wants to take care of Goodman before further announcement. So the Ball fight could be bigger in a year or so. And additional Riyadh contracts can be signed after the Junto fight.
@JaySosPWA942 ай бұрын
I think you're right about him fighting Picasso next year because I just seen the THE RING rankings and Picasso is like no.5....and another thing I observed is that Inoue already beat Tapales whose no.1 and Nery whose no.4, in between them are Akhmadaliev and Goodman, he's slated to to fight Goodman come December so if he beats him then Akhmadaliev and Picasso then Inoue will have cleaned out the top 5-10 including Doheny whose still in the top 10 rankings
@MarkH-z82 ай бұрын
@@JaySosPWA94 Yeah that's what I was thinking he would clean up all of the top 8 in 8 fights which would be unheard of while defending undisputed more times than Canelo did. Also if they fight MJ in Saudi it would help that he is Muslim and Picasso in the US to appeal to the Mexicans and could even have Canelo in the audience or even be the co-main to something like Canelo vs Mbilli. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things after seeing those pics of them in Japan within a week of each other. Lol.
@JaySosPWA942 ай бұрын
@MarkH-z8 Mhhmm and the only person he wouldn't have beaten is Davies who I believe was in position to land the Inoue fight next year in a 6 belt unification fight and YES the IBO does matter, Inoue could have literally cleaned out ALL the belts with big letters in em but Davies messed that up lol
@JaySosPWA942 ай бұрын
@MarkH-z8 And Doheny was a good fight for Inoue to take because he was a former champ and he was the one that started the unification process at 122

Canelo is an intelligent guy who knows his limits, especially after the wake-up call against Bivol. I fear we'll never see him in another fight with someone dangerous, certainly not someone like a Golovkin. He'll fight Terence because the worst case scenario is a wide points loss. He probably won't fight Benevidez.

The East don't need to concern themselves with what the West think are big fights. Inoue & Nakatani don't need the approval of territories that don't cater to them. Japan and the rest of the Asian markets are doing just fine without a Nick Ball fight.

Crawford gets a frankly staggering free ride by the boxing media, nothing at 147 or 154 how abut Boots, Ortiz, Fundora even Murtazaliev. Fair enough he wants a cash out fight with Canelo but stop calling him p4p number 1 if he has and intends to avoid the best in and around his weight division, Canelo quite rightly is not afforded the same standard due to avoiding Benevidez the difference is Canelo has a massive back catalodge of world class fights.
@TheRulerRoderickSutton2 ай бұрын
Legends and legendary fights are not and never have been made from “names.” And THIS is what is wrong with boxing: trying to pick and choose based on who fans “think” is good. If older fighters thought like that, we would’ve never known about George Foreman, Ken Norton, Ron Lyles, Larry Holmes, Leon Spinks and countless other fighters who challenged Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier who fought THE NEXT MAN UP, only for those men to use their platforms to be thrusted into the national spotlight as household names. So, Ade, do boxing a favor and STOP matchmaking. There is a ranking system for a reason, ADVOCATE FOR ITS USE. The fans will learn to like fighters AFTERWARDS. Crawford should’ve fought Boots if he wanted an exciting fight-he just wants money and fame and has only received a little of each. Crawford’s career is a result of matchmaking, not Legacy Building.

Im with you bro. So tired of hearing who is a NAME or popular that makes a good fight. Especially coming from experts or people who make content on boxing. Resume this resume that. Betting odds also affect things, people think youre trash because youre not the favorite, then an upset happens and now the favorite fighter was exposed. I'm glad when I got into boxing, I started off watching Inoue because no one knows anyone there in the lower weights. It helped me enjoy watching the fights and not the drama.
