Inoue doesn't need to fight Davis. The dude is a four division champ, he'd have to move up another two divisions to even make it reasonable to fight Davis. People who are saying that the two need to fight are mostly Inoue haters wanting him to take a fight that's truly above his physical size just so they can see him lose. When Inoue fought at 115lbs people said he needed to move up to 118lbs and he'd be exposed as a hype train. He destroyed the entire division, moved up to 122lbs, knocked out a guy who people said he had no chance against, and is now looking to win two more belts. Everyone is just gonna keep saying he needs to get heavier. If in some crazy turn of events Inoue fought Davis at 130lbs and won they'd be saying he needs to move up another weight class and be exposed.

thats just how it is. but you can't necessarily blame the fans or inoue because inoue is the only big name in the lower divisions. all the big names are moving up in weigh so the likelyhood of inoue even fighting someone like tank by the time hes able to get to 130lbs or higher they might already be at 147

He does need to move up you hypocrites say manny is better than floyd because he moved up from like 100 pounds to 165 you can’t then say the asain guy isn’t suppose to move up but if it was Floyd staying at 120 you would say he’s not the best cause he stayed to low

already is. Hes already got 2 arguably 3 hall of fame wins on his resume, 2x from Nonito Donaire all time great/HOFer, 1 from omar narvaez...omar narvaez isnt in the HOF yet but he was on the voter's ballot to get into the HOF So already at 30yr old hes got 3 HOF wins under his resume, hes a 4 weight champion, one of those weights he collected all the titles and went undisputed. So that already puts him up there. Fulton got the decision over Figueroa he was a undefeated 2 belt unified champion, Inoue did not take a tune up, he did not take a mandatory, he dropped all the belts he jumped up went right to the head of the snake and chopped Fulton up. He beat the consensus number 1 dude in that weight class in his 1st fight in that weight class. That's unprecedented shit. Then you got Manny Rodriquez and Maloney, at the time Inoue fought both they were both at the top 5 at bantamweight. Those wins age well because both went on to win another belt after Inoue defeated them. As far as modern boxing goes If Inoue wins undisputed at bantamweight last year and wins undisputed again in another weight class this year that's about as good as your gonna get as far as greatness goes in This Era. Winning all 4 titles undisputed in 2 diff weight class in back-to-back years thats about as good as your gonna get in this era of boxing. Tapales is a good fighter but Inoue is gonna destroy him. If Inoue moves up to 126 and wins at least 1 title thats gonna put him in a very prestige category of guys who have won titles in 5 diff weight classes, he’d be in a category with Tommy Hearns, Suger Ray Leonard, Oscar De la hoya, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather. For a guy that won a title in 5 different weight divisions. Thats all time great status idc what anyone says. thats about as good as your gonna get as far as greatness goes.

I gained a lot of respect after watching this interview. And I really appreciate his realistic view of things and the respect he showed for Tank. He doesn't need for media hype to push him in his career. That's something Tank has done a good job of as well. Let the fights come, ignore the hype and the BS like what the Haneys are doing right now with Tank. Eventually the legacy fights will come.

One of the most impressive stories from his past is about an event at his junior high school graduation ceremony where he talked about his future dream in front of all the students. It was interesting to hear Inoue say that he wanted to say "I will become a world boxing champion," but was afraid of the hellish training required to make that a reality if he actually said it, so he changed his speech to "I will win a high school tournament He thinks what he says absolutely must be acted upon. From a native Japanese speaker's point of view, Naoya's answer was within the expected range. He probably concentrates only on the game at hand. He may have an idea of what he wants to be like in the future, but he does not talk about "picture cakes" as if they were written on a piece of paper. In the Japanese way, he probably thinks of it not as modesty, but as a warning (i.e., a curse) to himself for his arrogance that leads to defeat. In addition, Naoya's matches are always exciting, but his stories have always been uninteresting. He is an extreme realist. As for him, let's watch the matches rather than listen to him. It's 100 times more interesting.
