I'm Japanese-American and right off the bat, I could tell Naoya was annoyed by the questions. It's not about confidence, he definitely has plenty, just watch Japanese TV shows and interviews. The problem with this interview is that he's attempting to get something controversial out of Naoya which he wants nothing to do with.

Inoue is probably used to being asked questions in Japan in an honorific or respectful way so he may not be used to being asked pointed questions. In the US these types of questions are normal. The interviewer didn't do anything wrong. I don't think the problem is with the interviewer. The problem is with Inoue. If he doesn't like these types of questions, then don't get interviewed by Americans or by FightHype. Just stick with Japanese TV.
@muppinsjoker2059

Basil D look country has nothing to do with it. Any person would be offended by straightforward questions unless youre an american bec to them its natural and Inoue is a japanese. The interviewer should watch his manners that not all the people he interviewed is pleased the way they approached them.

@@muppinsjoker2059 First of all, I don't think the interviewer asked anything illegal, disrespectful or inappropriate so I don't think he did anything wrong. Second, Inoue is fighting and interviewing in America now. Do all interviewers in America have to conform to Japanese customs? If that's what you expect, then go back to Japan or stick with interviewing with Japanese only.

@Rene Jr. Tajos True that. Though I gotta say, Manny is much more likeable character with or without talk. And how he has paved the way for all lighter weight class, trampling thru great champs after another, as he moved up and up and up, his recognition around the boxing world is unmatched by any. Though it's part of the biz to say "next Pacman, next Mayweather, next Tyson" GOAT debatable fighters are at a whole another level. Inoue gotta unify all Bantam, then onto Collect all 4 I'm super Bantam, then fatherwieght to be listed among them

Interviewer: Do you want to knock out Donaire next time you fight? Inoue: Of course! Great answer. That's my boy! Truthfully, he knocked him out in the first fight in the 11th. The pathetic ref actually counted Donaire out but let him up after the 10 count. And that was after letting Donaire jog around the ring for half a minute looking for a place to lay down. Inoue looks like he'd rather be back in Japan instead of dealing with all the media madness here in the US. Like he said, he loves boxing and all he wants to do is fight. It's what he was born to do. I hope coming to America doesn't ruin this enormously talented fighter and honorable young man.
