Thanks very much but we didn’t do handstands on the top. I guess you’re a relation of the man many consider to be the founder of British climbing. Do you climb at all? Have you been up Napes Needle?

Ben Pearce I climbed in younger days! Too old now but still show an interest. Walter Parry was my great grandfather’s brother.

Hi Tom/Jack and family. Awesome film, and ace to see you climbing Napes Needle. I saw the film pop up on UKClimbing and thought I'd have a look. Napes Needle is a pretty special place. I was lucky enough to film Leo Houlding climbing there as one of my first projects when I started out making movies, although I was a bit older than you (maybe not you, mum and dad)! That led on to some pretty cool stuff, and these days I make adventure and rock climbing films for a living. We've just made a film with Leo climbing an amazing new route out in Greenland which you can check out if you like. Just Google 'Mirror Wall film'. Maybe making a film on the Needle might be the start of a lifelong passion for you too? You never know... Anyway, I just thought I'd say hello and congratulate you on an ace film. If you haven't already then you should pop down to Kendal Mountain Festival. It's an amazing place to go and hang out if you're in to climbing and filmmaking. Matt

Hi Matt, Thanks for you lovely comments. You're right, Napes Needle is a special place. The climbing was great, leading to a pointy summit with a good vantage point for non-climbing film crew. We all enjoyed the trip out and even the editing was fun - but it took ages. Having shot and edited one film we''ll hopefully have learnt a bit for the next one, whenever that is. We went to Kendal last year, which gave Tom the inspiration for the film. This year we went back and saw your Mirror Wall film on the big screen. We loved the adventure and Tom thought the climbing awesome. It must have been some fair challenge to film! We entered the film into the family category at Kendal, sadly we didn't win but the judges liked it so much that we've been offered a pair of free film passes for next year, so we'll definitely be going again! And we've got a year to come up with the next film. Tom and Ben (Dad)
