We really like our Napoleon Prestige 500, and feel it is better than the Weber Genesis. The side infrared is really nice when we use it. We also have a Weber Summit Kamado for when we want to do some smokin' or just grilling over hardwood charcoal.

Prestige Pro 4 Burner owner. Really like the sizzle zone which was the biggest reason for purchasing the Prestige vs the Weber or even Blaze where you have to remove one of the gas tubes and install the infrared burner. Interesting situation with Napoleon now though. Prestige Pro has a problem where if I turn on a 4th burner it shuts down the other three. So naturally called Napoleon and they are not taking any new service request (so much for limited lifetime warranty). Has an option to stay on the phone and speak to someone but no one ever answers (stayed on hold for 30 minutes on two occasions). They give no reason at all for not taking any service request and the website contains no information. Also I am in the US so not sure if EU is the same. I am hoping my problem is just the regulator, but honestly this message alone from Napoleon not taking any new service request with no reason given would make me stay away from them. This is a 2 year old grill and cost close to $2000.00 dollars.

What I'd really like to see from Napoleon is a flat top with their awesome infrared side burner. I use my Blackstone like crazy, and I'd like something that's a little bit more high end, i'm not really a gas grill guy, I'll fire up my kamado if i'm in the mood for a open flame.

In the market for a new grill, and have been relying on your videos for great information. I noticed you keep comparing the Napolean Prestige against the Weber Genesis. Napoleon Prestige 500 non pro series is a great grill. It compares in price to the Weber S-435 at $1499 USD. The Napoleon has some weakness vs. the Weber S-435. No side storage. Storage under grill is limited by the supports. Doors are cheaply made. The cabinet feels flimsy compared to the Weber. Difficult to put together. The biggest disadvantage for the Napoleon is that it is a much smaller grill for the same price. The Weber has 32% more cooking area for the same price. As the gentleman says in his comparison, features inside the box matter more. Grill size conveniently left out of discussion in his comparison video. If you want a grill the same size as the Weber S-435, you will need to move up to the Prestige 665 which costs $500 more than the equivalent size Weber. The Weber crafted kitchen accessories are very nice. For an additional $300 you can get a smart version of the Weber grill but I think for most people they would be better off getting an infrared thermometer, a quick probe and a probe/ambient temperature alarm system. The Napoleon has some real advantages. The infrared side burner is marginally better than the Weber searing station with the cast iron searing grate. The internal Weber searing station does a great job without using up your side burner. It gets more than hot enough . The rear infrared might make a slight difference when using a rotisserie but frankly I am skeptical. If anything the danger of overcooking the chicken increases with an infrared burner. The Weber is able to maintain a perfect roasting temperature so the difference is minimal. The nice thing is that the Napoleon comes with a rotisserie. You will need to spend extra money to get the Weber rotisserie or an aftermarket rotisserie which is much better than the OEM. The rotisserie is an additional $150 USD. The Napoleon has a more convenient lighting system and nice knobs that are lit and visually show you they are on by change color to red. This is a nice safety and convenience feature. The Napoleon warranty seems better. It is a lifetime on the lid ,grates,castings and stainless steel cook box base. Weber only has a 12 year on these parts. The non-infrared burners etc have the same 10 year warrant as Weber. Weber has a 5 year on non-listed parts. Napoleon has a 2 year on non-listed parts. Those fancy Napoleon infrared burners only have a 5 year warranty and they are expensive to replace. I doubt Napoleon will be able to live up to its warranty 20 years from now when they don't make the part. Maybe they can. So the decision is far from obvious, You might opt for more grill vs. fancy features that might not really make a meaningful difference. I chose the Weber S-435 because I don't like clutter and the Weber crafted accessories fit in the side cabinet and under the grill. I know it is easier to find replacement parts for the Weber. Weber is everywhere. I had to go to a specialty shop just to see one put together. Did I mention that they wanted to charge me over $300 to assemble and deliver. The Weber installation was flawless. I like my decision. I got a much larger grill for my money.

I got a Prestige Pro 825 from you last year, and I love the thing. The double sear burners have the right amount of space to cook for a party, and I haven't run out of room on the main hood yet. The main hood also gets screaming hot if you want it to--way more flexible than I was expecting. The only thing I'd change is more power out of the wok burner--it's hotter than my range inside, but that thing would be perfect if it ran a bit closer to a real outdoor wok burner. I haven't worked out how to get much value out of the little smoke drawer yet either, but I've got a Weber Performer next to it at the moment, and a Lone Star Grillz pellet smoker coming to take its place, for stuff I really want smoke on.

What good is a warranty if you can’t get Napoleon to pick up the phone or ship parts? The Internet full of horror stories about Napoloeon “warranty”. How about addressing that in your videos? Is it as bad as people claim? Trying to find a decent grill but legit warranty is a must.

Fairly new to Bbq'ing but this year I am considering getting a serious BBQ. I'm the kind of person that prefers to buy the best I can afford at the time and look after my stuff so it lasts and lasts and in turn doesn't require replacing for a long time. My biggest criteria is cooking quality first and durability/build quality second. I do not need a large bbq but I want the absolute best grilling quality in my budget range so I can get restaurant quality results. My budget is about $3,000 give or take and I am currently eyeing the Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 for its feature set (and additional accessory options), warranty and the fact it is made in Canada. Anyone have any other suggestions that deserve consideration? Bonus question: If Napoleon isn't the absolute best, if money was no object what is "the best" stand-alone grill money can buy and why?

I bought a Prestige 665 RSIB online and put it together a day ago. I am VERY disappointed. First of all, bumper to bumper some how means something different to Napoleon than it does to the rest of use. The bumper to bumper life time warranty only applies to a short list of components. The rest are covered by a 15 yr warranty which still seems good until you read the fine print. It does not apply to rust or deuteriation of the finish which is a big deal when you consider that there is very little stainless in this grill. It only applies after a part is so badly rusted that it falls into pieces. They claim that the hood is "All stainless". It is not, the sides are aluminum which is not a big deal but the underside is cheap, thin plain steel. This was the first thing to fail on my last grill, so this $2300 grill is not going to last any longer than the $600 box store grill it replaces. They also are not that honest when they say it has stainless steal construction. I cannot find one piece of stainless in the structure of the grill frame or the cart. The handles are cheap chrome plated plastic, all the sheet metal is cheap, thin painted plain steel, no better than my old box store grill. The box store grill sheet metal is actually a little thicker. The burners and heat deflectors are a bit better on the Napoleon but if the rest of the grill falls apart just as fast as a cheaper grill why does it matter if the burners are still good, the grill is still trash at that point,. Would it not be better to spend less upfront if they are both going to last as long. But maybe you will get more at the scrape metal yard when you get rid of it. Oh wait, my old box store grill has stainless handles and all stainless side shelves, not plastic, so the box store grill wins there. I have only had the 665 a couple of days but I am so disappointed at the quality of the materials of this thing that I am seriously considering returning it. I cannot justify the cost of this grill at 3x the cost of a comparable quality box store grill that cooked as well as my brother's Weber. I was so enthused about getting the Napoleon after watching these videos and reading the descriptions on the Napoleon website right up until it arrived and I pulled it out of the box. Then I tried calling their customer support. I waited on hold literally 4 hours and no one answered. I left two call back requests and no one called back. I tried to contact them via their website and only got an auto reply. So they also score a big ZERO in customer support on top of their weak and deceptive warranty.
@embersliving

I disagree with you. Also where did you purchase from? I always say a warranty is as good as the place you buy it from. So if you bought it on a “big box” website. You are not going to get much help. That’s the value you get when buying from a place like us. Also just to help ease your mind. I bought my mom a P500 about 15 years ago. Works as good as the day I got it for her, and haven’t replaced one part on the grill.
@johnvolt9605
@johnvolt9605 Жыл бұрын
@@embersliving 15 years ago they may have been better built. What was delivered to me this week was nearly all thin painted steel. Who I buy it from is not going to change that or change how fast it rusts. I already started the process to return it. It is going back where it came from.
