@Craig not what happened. He forced a Russian retreat and was in pursuit, the Russians fought a valiant rear actions and the faced of with him again, forcing a less clear victory. Nepolian could then no longer clam a Russian defeat but it was a success and the Russians never could bring itself back to its full strangth from this. Pretty much France ran at Russea with a knife, Russea basically ran into the woods put its back against a tree swinging a shovel. There was no way for France to maintain offence and 1 hit with the shovel was enough to, let's say implore him to stop his actions.

He became emperor, not dictator… He knew the senate had to resign by themselves to gain the support of the revolutionaries or else he would be overthrown.. The term Dictator or Despot was considered an insult during the French Revolution The only reason why they resigned is cuz they knew Napoleon was the only one who could save the French Revolution as the campaign of Italy done by Napoleon was successful but the other generals in the north were not that successful and the coalition was approaching Paris… Without Napoleon, the coalition would have reached Paris Everyone was a committed Republican, including napoleon (republican in the sense of supporting the republic, cuz during French Revolution, the term Republican and liberal referred to the same side) The reasons for Napoléon to become emperor was to save French Revolution and to overthrow the 5 members directory committee that was known for corruption Let’s not forget that Napoleon himself was a jacobin and a friend of the brother of Robespierre… Napoleon did in fact supported Robespierre until his last days, even writing letters in favor of Robespierre saying that Robespierre was just the scapegoat of the terror

Fairly well written piece . But I am stunned by the incompetence of the narrator, and every editor/executive up the chain of command who could’ve corrected the pronunciation massacre that occurred in this piece, but didn’t. A generation of illiterates has come to power in the media. So sad.

Napoleon secretly betrays everyone, you you”re the traitor!! Napoleon: No just patching up old business. Uphold the principles of our order and all that for which we stand, never share our secrets nor divulge the true nature of our work. Do so, until death - whatever the cost. This is my new creed.
