I haven't played Napoleon in years and seeing your army positioning and artillery firing at the buildings looked it was going to be great, then the howitzers started killing everything. Reminded me why me and my friends always banned howitzers when we played haha. Still, very impressive you were able to get 99% of the way to victory when having to attack a fortified position the entire time!

you employed Russian tactics perfectly. Try to level the town with artillery, lose artillery duel, procceed to meat-storm, suicide charge to seize the initiative, grinding attritional battle up close and let those casualties mount. Its too bad he got away with it in the end, I could see him waiting with calculated purpose on the blind side of that farmhouse, but it was stil a very epic fight

i’ve played it online with my buddy a few months back. I just wish they fixed issues like pathing rather than just visuals. I still enjoy it but it’s made my desire for a great medieval 2 remaster feel like a pipe dream

Sounds like you have a bit of hate for the game these days. Napoleon has always been about running away and reforming skirmishers. I actually think you could have won that game much sooner and easier just by charging their buildings with your line infantry. Was interesting to see your initial cannons position, seemed effective on the buildings. Cav for artillery is a usual trade with the game and you had to do it. Was a bit hard to watch though, your command skills are super sloppy now.
