Great player, all round nice bloke also. I played at Thoresby when he was Solo Euph there. A highlight of mine was the duet 'Deep Inside The Sacred Temple' played alongside the late Steve 'Nobby' Noble, absolutely stunning, never heard it played better!

Michael Dodd is such a unique and special player. He is the only eupho player who can make a cornet solo sound really nice on euphonium. I hear various top eupho players play this and all of them make it sound forgettable, but not Michael Dodd.

TheSproutarian Michael plays the piece lightly, not forcing it and he plays it with a snap that you don't often hear. It makes for a refreshing change and encourages me to work to make my playing the same.
