...this feels more real, than most of the spoiled & decadent western society... of course there is much hardship, but its living with the raw forces of nature, close to survival in those harsh environments... people are more connected to their hearts than their rational minds... love this! I am addicted to documentaries; by far this one is the best for Real Life in Tibet. Due the photography aspects, respects to the uses and habits, poetry, sensibility and to remain as should, never wishing to be a Hollywood production, it’s clear the open eyes and souls of whom produced and tape it Mon chapeau pour le couple!!!! 😊🎉

The region is of sublime, rugged beauty. The people are warm, friendly, approachable. Life goes on slowly, everyone, rivers, men and beasts, wrapped in majestic mountains. With many hardships, no one gets away with that, but with simplicity, and sincerity. I'll never be able to visit this pair of valleys, to see those clean, cozy houses, those gleaming crockery that have lived for ages. My asthmatic lungs won't let me. I'll never learn that language, I'll never sit on a bend in those roads, staring at the crows. But these three hours have allowed me to be there. You don't know how grateful I am to you for giving me this opportunity. God bless you.

Beautiful filmography that tells its own story without commentary. As creators, you have graciously focused on your subject and submerged yourselves in the landscape and its culture. Long stretches of this actually look like it's been filmed on a different planet. Star Treck, and the Enterprise come to mind, visiting a new World for the very first time. I watch a fair bit of trecking and Himalaya/Tibet/Nepal related material, but what we've been shown here: I have never seen. The scale of these buildings is just mind-blowing. The background music via good headphones took the entire thing to yet another level. I'm totally sold on your filming and also the 3 hours and 9 minutes: are NOT too much. The do actually help to understand how unique of a place you're showing us. Very well done indeed, and!!!: Thank you for sharing this material. 🥰😉

Those making statements like "this is Nepal, not Tibet" really should educate themselves on the world. You are quite right, the land is Nepal, but if you anything of what has happened in Tibet, then you would understand about the escaping of Tibetans across the Himalaya from Chinese oppression, and that many Tibetans have now had to make parts of Nepal and India their home, and so tend to gather in enclaves to keep the spirit of their community and traditional way of life.

Errrrrr... I don't think these Tibetan communities in Nepal are as young as the Chinese occupation of Tibet. The Chinese invasion began in the middle of the 20th century. The buildings in those villages are significantly older. The Nepalese border has little to do with ancient ethnic settlements.

Borders are political. Cultures and traditions are not. There are places in northern India and Nepal, where people are Tibetan, but politically inside the borders of Nepal and India.
