Nar Valley Way | Part 3: Litcham to Gressenhall

The Nar Valley Way is a stunning 35 mile long trail that follows the River Nar from Kings Lynn to Gressenhall, passing dozens of historic monuments and buildings along the way. The third and final part of this lovely trail sets out from Litcham towards the source of the River Nar before turning south into the historic village of Mileham, with its enormous castle earthworks. Beyond Mileham the trail crosses open countryside past a deserted medieval village to arrive at Gressenhall and the end of this great walk.

Thanks for this series Joe. Whilst walking the Nar Valley Way earlier in the summer I stayed at The Bull Inn in Litcham which is the second oldest coaching inn in Norfolk. A beautiful building and a true hark back to earlier times.

Just wondering - is there anything to suggest that the village of Little Bittering (?) was abandoned because of The Plague? Loved the walk, by the way.
