Episode was deeper than I thought. Squid ward desired to live the life without spongebob/Patrick cause they caused him so much stress. But once he got wat he wanted, he realize life with without chaos makes is no life at all. He needed the unpredictability that spongebob and Patrick brings cause it balanced his life, so he turned into the very thing that he thought he hated.

people see it as squid realizes his lifestyle is boring but its actually about individuality and the joy from the randomness of life...life if it was predictable simple the same would not be worth living...paradise is a mindset..yes spongebob annoys him but he brings the small bit of joy every once in a awhile and makes life interesting if anything else and when your used to that its hard to go back to normalcy...it feels extra .. and having someone to scold is always what squid wants to feel superior...he hates being normal he wants to feel above people ...he likes not knowing what a day will bring...as we all do unless you grow up in a sanitized way i guess..then thats just what you have known and other things don't seem fun or you won't try them even if they could make you enjoy life more

This is one of the best episodes of SpongeBob since it Squidward focused and showed him becoming exactly like SpongeBob to a new community of people who are the same way he was at the start of the episode, so many memes were created from this episode alone (Squidward's TV, Turkey Sandwich, Canned Bread, etc.).
