Insane amounts of money lost here and still just a drop in the bucket.
@mogreen19 Жыл бұрын
Well actually not really lost, you see it would only be worth half a billion in the EU or US. In Bolivia it is way, way cheaper than the 37,000 Euro in Nederland or 80,000 Euro on the street in Berlin. In Bolivia it is just $2,000 or even less than 1,800 Euro per Kilo, the paste from the farmers is sold for $200/kilo. So no, actually no money lost here except for smugglers and dealers did not profit.

It’s not actually 9 tons of pure cocaine it will be somewhere between half to 1/6 of that. The weight is calculated based on the mass of the cocaine polymer, not on the cocaine as it would be once it is processed back into cocaine salt. Law enforcement agencies deliberately mislead media on this because inflating the weight has a positive effect on government spending with regard to crime prevention. Basically they are paid to cause the problem they are paid to solve. This simple caveat it’s what drives the entire economic machine behind all global drug trade. Police, lawyers, prisons, guards, the courts, weapons and security firms ect are 90% funded because people enjoy using drugs. And of coarse almost all of the actual harm associated with all drugs is driven directly because due to this. Making the entire drug trade (including prohibition and law enforcement) economically viable for all involved. Do you understand now? Without police and governments and lawyers and judges and prisons ect being paid to “prevent” drug use, production and trade, there would be no incentive to illegally produce, use and trade and around and around it goes. Anyone who makes money reporting, enforcing, charging, imprisoning, arguing, studying or have anything to do with any of the criminality associated with drugs, is in effect fully responsible for all of the social and economic harm. The sake that eats its own tail…

@hjd202310 ай бұрын
Think you meant to say dozens of much larger shipments were pushed on through! You’re spot on about them sending one through so it can found. That’s how they do it no doubt. What’s even crazier is that all of America’s shipping ports on both coasts can only handle searching 2% - 3% of all the shipping containers that enter our country! Think about that. Then we have border crossings/checkpoints in Cali, Arizona, Texas, & New Mexico where dozens of thousands of semi trucks carrying whatever are crossing into US daily. Only way to stop drugs is to completely legalize EVERYTHING. It’ll never ever happen but that’s the answer. America’s prohibition days are the perfect example of changing the current situation. Way to much money to be made for all sorts(governments, criminals, corporations, etc.)folks when it’s illegal though so it’ll never change.
