You can clearly see Pablo is genuinely happy when he saw his cousin even though its all hallucination. And when he said he misses him every single day in my life, he tried his best to hold his tears, dayum.

The man had a full on tunnel built beneath his cell, he voluntarily escaped down the ladder and out the exit, regardless of how many guards he paid off (a task that'd literally be impossible without the guards and a litany of construction workers and sicarios), he 100% "escaped prison"..

@@stopwritingthatreplyjohnat6638 And your in quotations definition is quite literally what El Chapo did, I don't understand how someone can argue that X "didn't escape prison" just because he had guards in on it... Every single guard in that jail wasn't paid off, every guard sure as fuck didn't have a clue a tunnel was being constructed and Chapo was plotting his escape, he didn't just simply "walk out" as the guards "all tipped their hats", if what you think went down actually happened, the man would've walked out the back entrance instead of constructing a wildly sophisticated-exremely deep-tunnel system that took hundreds of people and months on end to build, and easily tens (if not hundreds) of millions of dollars. @@matasa7463 Yes that's exactly the feeling I had when I finally saw this episode yesterday. The entire arc in his father's farm is a way for the directors to talk some hypothetical alternative path Pablo could have taken all along had he been born in another place and time with his cousin. There, maybe for the first and last time of his life, was able to briefly contemplate a possible glimpse of that other self he could have been. That would be the only point of his entire existence where he must have questioned his choices and their dire consequences for so many others that his ruthless ambition wiped away on his quest for eternal glory as a kingpin.

@MrTVx99

I doubt it'd be much longer. While Gustavo could control him somewhat, Pablo really wanted everyone to bow down to him. He bombed the plane and Gustavo couldn't do anything about it. Pablo would have been just as impulsive and he probably would have been caught eventually anyway. He was done when he started killing important political figures.

This scene is so powerful, perfectly represents how it feels to miss someone important in your life, how the grief is never really over, how the intrusive thoughts of the lost beloved ones are relentlessly coming. The way he looks at Gustavo, realizing he will join him sooner or later and how this loss impacted his life, it reflects exactly the reality of mourning.

This scene showed a different side to Pablo. He'd become so enthralled in his business, and between "helping" his country and fighting the system, that he had never taken the time to simply enjoy life. Here he can be seen relaxing in the park with an ice cream like the common man he always claimed to be, taking in his beautiful city. It's almost a shame he doesn't realise his mistakes and surrender like Tata wanted. Not that he deserved to live, but he probably could have.

It really goes to show that no matter how "evil" someone is, there is always an element of shared human connection that will leave me feeling like we are brothers. I hate the things he did and perhaps he did deserve to die but he didn't completely lack honor, respect, or integrity. I guess the hardest part is knowing what good people are capable of and instead seeing their lives play out for the worst (regardless of their culpability).

@@scarface6684 idk about that all the good things he did was for his own reasons and people know more of him it’s caused some to worship him which isn’t what the creators wanted

Lot of people forget murphy talking about drug dealers running around in slippers , and in this scene we see a wide shot where both pablo and gustavo are wearing same kind of slippers , which probably signifies how a big drug lord and street dealers are same for officer like murphy !!

I honestly prefer Gonzalo here, he is more charismatic and I like him more, but patrón del mal gonzalo is just more accurate and he has his charm of his own.

What makes this particular scene even more profound is that it was a foreshadowing of Escobar’s death & thus, he would be joining Gustavo soon. Pablo died the day after his 44th birthday.

It is impressive how Wagner managed to get his spanish just good enough to pass, there's those moments that make you go "uh" if you know spanish, but my god it is impressive.

that scene is overlooked by most viewers, but this is one of the best scenes and dialogues in the entire series. At least to me. Great manuscript and acting, especially facial expressions by Moura. The scene is packed with conflicting emotions - joy (due to the "meeting")/sadness, optimism/dreaming and nostalgia, self-confidence/hesitation of an isolated and persecuted man who already knows deep down that he is defeated. Very emotional. That scene kind of re-humanize Pablo.
