My god, getting injured after having 5 match points is really a new level of sad, you gotta deal with the thought that winning any of them wouldn't have just given you the w but also save you from the injury.

I guess that Thiago after Nardi injury didnt feel to push hard. And took risk to lose the match. If i am right i want to congrat with Thiago for his sportmanship. E Forza Nardi, dai. Greetings from Rome Italy

Lol, no. SayN@zi Wild made sure to move Nardi around & went into lockdown mode in the tiebreak. Nardi should won at 5-4 in the 3rd. These kind of cruel losses are maddening.

If i were to guess, it was probably Rinderknech's late grunting towards the end of the 3rd set and his big yell at 5-5 when it seemed like they were both quiet all match based from the highlights. Since they are both compatriots from France, a big celebration at crucial moments towards the end of the match can be seen as disrespectful.

Chill. It's an R1, daytime match, between two low-ranked players, on Day 1 of a very low profile 250 clay tournament, in a small country. Not exactly the conditions for packed stands. These smaller, filler 250 tournaments exist for players to get ready for the Masters & Slams.

The evolution of Nardi and Cazaeau, the two young revelations of the seasons, will be interesting to see. Due to tbe pressure and the eyes following their performances, they both get injured recently

Interesting theory. It could also work for Alcaraz... but how about Rune, Tsisipas, Medvedev, Hurkacz...and so on ? If I'm correct they didn't get injuries when they gained reputation and pressure was starting to weigh on their shoulders. These things are non correlated.
@taopaille-paille4992
@taopaille-paille4992 16 күн бұрын
@@guillaumechatelain5650 this is more complicated than that. Drop in levels is definitely correlated with an all time early great performance. The only exception is maybe Nadal on clay. Federer Djokovic had bad results after their first greatest performance. Despite an injury is not fully correlated, your examples do not show at all that there is no correlation. We already knew for sure that not everyone gets injured after a great first performance. Correlation doesn't mean equation.

This injury came at a horrible time. It will disrupt all of the momentum & good form he had been building. The clay season is only going to get MORE intense after this. Nardi will miss some big, lucrative Masters tournaments & not be in the best position for RG/FO. The cutoff for which happened the same day he got injured & lost such a crucial match.

Sinner, Nardi, Murray, & Paul's 2024 losses due to injury are classic reminders of the old tennis adage, "get off the court". If they had won in straight sets instead of being pushed to a third set, things could'v been very different. The longer you play, the more court conditions can change, the more you can let your opponent back into the match, & the more you can expose yourself to injury as you push your fatiguing body in an effort to get to certain balls & make certain shots. It's always the same injuries: busted ankles from a sudden change in direction or fall and cramping in the legs.
