I like how Ian brings up the fact that Nardwuar is animated and aggressive in his interviews, which is his style and you either get it or you don’t and the ones who don’t are put off. I mean his interviews are all titled “Nardwuar versus so and so” which I find hilarious. I’d like to hear what he’s like off the record.

I bumped into Nardwuar at SXSW 2014. Let me just say his interview persona is only a mild exaggeration of what I experienced talking to him. He is a major, major music fanatic, and friendly as can be. Nardwuar is full of stories about our heroes going back to Kurt Cobain and is easily as big a fish as many of the people he interviews. He gave me doot-do-la-doot-doo when it was time to part ways.

Ian is a LEGEND! I grew up in the DC area and I was too young for Minor Threat but I saw Fugazi many times....they are AMAZING!

Ian explains exactly why it took me SO LONG to warm up to Nardwuar. His interview style is so over the top that it feels almost aggressively invasive, as if you’re expected to be aware of who is, which feels somewhat presumptuous. But once you’re in the know he makes sense; but that still feels a little unfair. But he’s Nardwuar.

I saw Fugazi play in Vancouver (actually Burnaby) a long time ago. Before the show Ian did the interview with Nardwuar in front of the Archery Butts. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They played for three hours and they played their hearts out.
