The people of Rajasthan are totally different from Maharashtra both have their own unique culture and history and when I say it, I meant it there are instances in history where Rajput and Maratha fought against each other, the people from a district in Maharashtra is totally different than another district in the same state in terms of language, culture still under one Umbrella India that is Bharat. Bharat had seen what happened to the Indian sub-continent when the diversity factor resulted in formation of new Country, and Bharat has been seeing what had happened and happening in those Countries till now. Division attracts big powers, and you think that India is worst when it comes to treat the Indigenous people? think again! India knows very well what will happen with Nagas when they will be left on their own once it is detached from the Indian umbrella. There is no U turn once you take route of division dear. First a separate nation for Nagas and then as you set an example that being different means living as a separate entity, then comes various Naga tribes.

If Nagaland is the divide and rule policy of the British how did Pakistan, Bangladesh, get a country? One day Naga will rise n form a new Country. It's just that Naga unity is lacking that's all. You saw one side of them, see the other side too that is what happened in those Countries internally after gaining Independance and where they are at present. Both of them formed through bloodshed. No foreign power cares what will happen in Nagaland after gaining Independance, but Bharat has been seeing what happened when we were divided, and Bharat don't want to repeat the mistakes of past and make another attractive place for the foreign powers to exhaust it carelessly and take advantage of every possible thing. Development comes with peace and thus leaders took the peace factor first.

Nagaland is the place of nagas inhabited areas (100% Naga peoples) of course some people from mainland India also there but that's not the issue. If Nagas are to be given independent with saparate flag n constitution which means Nagas will be like a country totally unique from India. For that we are bound to have a saparate geographical location so Nagaland will be the main place for Nagas. So he is mentioning Nagaland independence. Sadly most of the Naga peoples are saparated in Manipur, Assam. To come n live together in Nagaland is impossible just imagine, the Nagas demand is at very critical stage from the side of GOI
