Hi Sanjay, I have been watching your videos in NY, I really enjoy them. I was born and brought up in Jodhpur. If you are still in Coimbatore you must go to see the seniors complexes. I have a flat in one of them its called Ananya's nana nani homes, my flat is in phase 5, its in Vadavalli, they do a great job for seniors. COCONUTS were originally monopoly of Kerala ( name Kerala means Kera + Alam ... land of Coconuts. Due to many reasons the coconut cultivation came down there and now even labour shortage affects. NOW KARNATAKA, Tamilnadu, Telungana, Andhra , Andaman etc are big producers though every state has them as decorative trees ( of more show than product gain) Tree climbing to pil extraction was manual but everything has been mechanised. Even what the man uses to de husk the coconut has been improved and a system of leverage is made use of by a new device.( Kerala and south Tamilnad and Karnataka houses use that even ladies can de husk in a minute with less effort. Coconuts are sold large scale for direct consumption in dishes.But large quantity goes for extracting oil.Two types of extraction Drying coconut by cutting in two and in sunlight/ heated air chambers in rainy season , then milling for oil. Another is using raw coconut ground in water and boiled the cream floats which becomes oil when heated. Even cold processing is available so that vitamins of nut are not wasted..absolute Virginia oil.The residue after milling is oil cake ( 60 percent by weight of dry nut Copra) is used as cattle feed.The residue in cold process is used for medical purposes for use of fine fiber suppliment NY converting into capsules. Generally oil cake goes for cattle feed. Directly or through factories who produce cattle feed. Coconut water in some cases used for making alcoholic drink FENNY( Goa) or for vinegar. From coconut tree by cutting its flower bunch, TODDY ( LOCAL ALCOHOLIC DRINK) IS MADE. HUSK USED FOR MAKING COIR ..ROPES AND MATS ETC. PART OF HUSK IS USED AS HEAT INSULATOR OR IN MAKING BREAK LINING. TREE IS USED FIR CONSTRUCTION OR FOR FURNITURE. Leaves( Fronds) are used for thatching house roofs or making walls or fences. Every inch of the tree is used by man. SO COCONUT TREE IS CALLED Kalpa vriksha.

Some decades before coconut trees where found mainly in Kerala . TN government encouraged and provided subsidy for coconut plantation. Now TN has large area under the cultivation of coconut. More oil and the tastier ones are from coastal belt. TN coconut is less tastier..

@@incredibler11 costal belt coconuts are taster and produce more oil and milk. Test it for yourself. Coconut in interior areas are dryer but big in size. It's the same in Palakkad etc. In sangham period I think it was palm not coconut palm. Palm(panna) was seen in entire South India. Coconut came to Kerala and other South Indian states only latter.
