J Dilla got the two samples from Towa Tei from a Producer/Emcee named S.P.O.T. (BeejNDem or 31 Flavors) from Southfield Michigan by way of South West Detroit... I was there when Spot discovered the samples and to use them.... I believe Spot sold the samples to Dilla for an ounce and some bread ... Hoping to work with him at a point .... Spot had the samples situated not on the 1234 but in just after the 1234 ( 1 - sample follows just after)....

Great job as always. For some reason when I listen to the original, it seems like I can hear the woman saying “find my way” more. Not sure why that is.
@Narokx Жыл бұрын
I don't understand... the woman is speaking portuguese
@F_letc.h Жыл бұрын
@@Narokx I know she’s not actually saying it, but it sounds like she is when I listen to the original. It’s probably because Tribe are singing, and that creates the illusion.
@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP Жыл бұрын
that's Dilla's magic, he did this a couple of times but actually i think he would hear a phrase similar to another one and then he'd use the one it sounded like as the track title so that the listener's brain only registers what Dilla wanted it to register
@NayRich Жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing. In the music they include captions during the chorus in the beginning and it literally sounds like she's saying all the the words. Dilla literally playing with our brains.
@DizzyMakavelli Жыл бұрын
“Que vem do pé meu bem”. It’s funny because even to Portuguese speakers it sounds weird some of the words she sings.
