I am a retired elementary teacher and this would be my dream job! I work with the school of education at my university part-time and I read aloud to our college students that are studying to become K-6 teachers. I have always loved to read aloud to my students.

I'm thinking about writing a true story children's book could you suggest some things? Publisher?
@j.c.ca.o.l70352 жыл бұрын
@@rhondasanders5169 Hi Rhonda, this is my first book, so I will probably put it out on a Kindle. If sales are good, a publisher could reach out. One thing to keep in mind since this is a kids book you will want to scout for illustrators, there are some good organizations that are agents for illustrators, and you can see their work online. An illustrator's charges can vary, running anywhere from $5,000 on up. Make sure before you put it on a kindle, that everything is copyrighted. I hope this helps.

Thank you Angela. I subscribed to your channel and am working my way through all your videos. Do you sell the presets you use and show in your videos?
@VoiceOverAngela Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you! No, I do not sell them. Everyone's space, voice and equipment is different, therefore, the effects you need will be different. If you need help with presets, get into contact with an audio engineer who can help create one for you.

Hey! I’m working on my album, and I think your voice is perfect for my intro! Is there a cost for a voice over? It’s only 1-2 sentences.

Hi! Your videos are GREAT, Angela! I'm new to this😊. Before narrating a book we agree to do, do we buy them in order to read them? Thanks!
@VoiceOverAngela2 жыл бұрын
The Rights Holder should send you a digital copy of the manuscript to narrate from. :)
This was so helpful, thank you! Is it not necessary to include the illustrator's name in the credits?
@VoiceOverAngela2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! If the illustrations will not be seen, no, the illustrators name need not be included. Unless, the Rights Holder requests it.

@@VoiceOverAngela Awesome, thank you so much! Just started working on my first ACX children's book - I knew you'd have all the answers! 🙏
@kitbullstory5 ай бұрын
Thank you for these great tips! I have a couple of questions. Why do you have to have the three tracks, the title, story and conclusion, can't it be done all on one track and is that only if you are going through ACX or does it apply If you're narrating a children's book that you got directly from an author?
@VoiceOverAngela5 ай бұрын
It depends on what the author or RH is doing with the files. If they are using an audiobook distributor, the files need to be separated.

Hello, quick question. I was looking at children's picture books to try for my first ever audition, a couple of the books I looked at the audition script was the entire book. Do I just record a few pages and submit that for my audition or do you normally record the entire book for audition? Sorry if its a dumb quesion, still figuring things out!
@VoiceOverAngela Жыл бұрын
Just a couple pages should suffice! Never submit an entire book as an audition, you're giving the author a free audiobook. 😉

I find it hard to find children’s book in ACX to audition for. Do you find it difficult too or have you had luck in ACX? Do you know when books are uploaded to audition for? I wish they had an alert feature to notify you when a certain genre is uploaded for audition. That would be awesome if ACX did that. Thanks for sharing 😁
@VoiceOverAngela3 жыл бұрын
There is a site called Audiobookscout.com that has this service. You need to sign up for a fee and you can customize the alerts for when the audiobook filters you set. I see children's books once in awhile on ACX.

I've written and illustrated a children's picture book which I'm contemplating on narrating, though if I read it as it is it would probably be less than ten minutes long and there will be things that I've not put into words that are in the illustrations, I'm wondering if I should re-write it for the audio book and describe more about what's happening in each scene, is this a thing that happens? Also how long do you think is acceptable for a children's audio book? Many thanks for the content, liked and subscribed.
@VoiceOverAngela2 жыл бұрын
When I narrate a children's book, they usually are about 10 to 20 minutes long, so that's fairly normal. If the illustrations are important to the story, consider a rewrite, but the book will have to match the audiobook if you are opting in for whispersync, a follow along type of read.
@snook-official2 жыл бұрын
@@VoiceOverAngela thanks for the response, I've just been re-reading it without the illustrations and it's probably ok as it is without rewriting. I also looked at some of the stuff on audible and they have children's audio books as short as 1 minute long, I reckon mine will be about tens minutes. I'll look into whispersync.

The clicker is used to mark mistakes in the waveform while recording. When I go back to edit, I can clearly see where the clicks are. I do explain this a few times, but I have a handful of videos :)

Big, big question here, since I'm an author who is interested in narrating my own books as well as books written by others: My writer name is Senna Crow, I'll be using my real name as the name of the narrator, but my company's registered trade name is "7Bloodfire Art and Story", under the actual company name "7Bloodfire, LLC". (The "7Bloodfire Art and Story" is the publisher side of my business, which will allow me to create multiple brands later under 7Bloodfire, LLC.) How on earth should I do those closing credits for my own works??? 😂😂I gotta make it complicated, lol. I know I should start with this: "This has been The Violet Curse. Written by Senna Crow. Narrated by Cinthia McCracken. Copyright 2021 by ....?" I'm not sure if I should say "7Bloodfire, LLC" or "7Bloodfire Art and Story." (The ISBNs were purchased under the business name, so my own company would always be associated with them in library look-ups. I didn't want Amazon's or IngramSpark's grubby fingers all over any of the rights to my work, lol.) Help.....? Heheh. I have no idea what I should do here.

Great question, I'm not really the best person to ask for legal or copyright advice, but my personal opinion is the copyright would belong to whichever owns it, whichever way it's named, I would think?
