I’m so grateful you have filmed this series! I’m starting some band weaving after doing rigid heddle weaving for several years, and for whatever reason I couldn’t wrap my head around how to thread for this kind of pickup technique. Balanced weave is just enough different, I guess, but now that I have watched you set up your design diagram and warp your heddle, I totally get where I went wrong. Thank you so much🥰

You are so welcome! That’s why I created this in depth simple series! I was trying to find out what I was doing wrong and it all seemed so confusing until I did it😀

If you need to hide the rest of the thread in the material, then the "loop lifting needle" will help you. There's a hook for darning women's tights. a hook with a hinged latch so as not to cling to the material. Very convenient.

Great class! I am weaving the same only without loom. Хорошее объяснение, спасибо. Я тку так же только привязываю к себе и не нужно станок.

Thank you! Is the weft has to be the same width as the pattern yarn?
@danaharrisseeger7 ай бұрын
You can make it a little thicker or thinner but not too much difference.

Great. An interesting machine. I'll make my wife one too. There is a large one with pegs for working with planks. But for small jobs, this one will be more convenient. The children will be happy at the art school. Thank you. It would be great if you showed exactly what the machine looks like and what size it is. - Maxim - Russia = Saint Petersburg

What kind of loom is that? I’m looking for a band loom that I can use my heddles on. Specifically the double slot. Thanks.

Hello, not sure i understood why there was a need to double the red?
@danaharrisseeger3 ай бұрын
Hi! I double the red so it is thicker and stands "up" against the background. It fills in the gaps with the weft and makes the pattern more apparent. You can also use a thicker yarn if you want instead
@virgilRimler5 ай бұрын
How would you make a 3 or 4 inch wide belt
@danaharrisseeger5 ай бұрын
You would need a bigger loom. I made a 2" belt with a rigid heddle that has 37 holes- for that many warp threads. If you wanted to make a wider belt, you would need a heddle with twice that many warp threads.
