Narrow gauge steam in a winter wonderland in 4K - Harzer Schmalspur bahn on Brocken mountain

A forecast of two days of sun on the Brocken prompted me to make a spur of the moment trip. The first day dawned sunny but clouds plagued me all day. The second day was bright sunny and I knew it was time to wipe a memory card to record some 4K footage! Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the hardworking 2-10-2 climb through the snowcovered landscapes to Brocken.

WOW! Been there in Jan 2016 at very similar weather conditions, but on the train. So I had the other view + direct sound, which was also awesome. But this video is really amazing! Thanks for sharing it!!

Thanks! The train ride is absolutely fantastic especially uphill, I did that back in 2012 but under much cloudier conditions!

Thanks! The peak is covered in snow most of the winter but you have to be very lucky to get sunny weather like this!
