Narrow Guage :: Brecon Mountain Railway

A quick visit to the BMR on the way back home (well, a bit of a detour) meant I got a chance to visit this line for the first time.
Having recently built an extension, the line has now doubled in length and now almost reaches the site of the old Torpantau station.

Visited the BMR today for my birthday. What a treat! I remember going as a child about 25 years ago (I was 31 yesterday) and the line being much longer makes for a great trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I grew up only 10 miles away, shame I didn't visit more often!

I was the Driver that day. number 2 is a fab engine. I don not work for the BMR anymore but have happy memories. especially of that 1 in 47 grade for 2 miles from Dol-Y-Gaer to Torpantau. my railway claim to fame: i was the first driver to haul a passenger train to Torpantau since 31st Decemeber 1962.

A line you don't see so often. Looks like they've had a few trees down there. What a nice loco, certainly makes a good sound.

Some very good locations, especially in the first half of the video, and excellent sound quality. As on my recent visit, the conditions were a bit gloomy.
