Narrow Leaf Ficus Bonsai Fall Defoliation Sept 23, '24

Defoliation is a great way to reduce leaf size on bonsai. It also opens up the tree so you can see the branch structure better and then make decisions on future refinement. I only defoliate healthy trees that I know will recover

Thank you for liking the tree. The birds you're hearing are mockingbirds. They have a pretty varied repertoire and they love to sing first thing in the morning which is when I make my content.
