Travel photography whilst exploring Mdina and Rabat in Malta. With medieval vibes and history, Mdina is the old capital of Malta, filled with narrow streets and stone architecture. I really enjoyed the day here, with a relaxed feel and so many opportunities for photography everywhere we looked.

@@Aeroslash72 if that were the case it would have also fired twice when he tapped the shutter very quickly, but he managed to only trigger one shot when he did that.

Hi Joe, I believe it have something to do with the CL Low Speed Burst speed settings. In my camera (X-T20), when I set the CL to 5fps I always take 2 pictures due to my finger is not quick enough to be raised from the shutter button. So I set on 4fps or 3fps to give my finger enough delay and it works. I don't know on X-T4 but on X-T20 it is on the Menu > AF/MF > Drive Setting > CL Low Speed Burst

I also get this from all my Sony cameras and sometimes on my Q2 too. Never figured it out and assumed it was me. It’s annoying but i only use single shot most of the time so I just live with it. Perhaps someone from Fuji could say why. Regards and thanks for the video.

I agree with the roadside parking stuff, it can really ruin a photo when you are taking a photo of a beautiful old building and there is a 2007 toyota corolla sitting in front of it. It just ends up being super distracting in images. I also tend to go high with my shots and try to not show any cars.

It’s a real bummer. The way I realised it though is actually when studying my photos from Asia and realised on street parking is actually quite rare there and was one of the main assets to why I enjoy my images more whilst there.

Moving to France I have fell in love with doors. I love thinking about the history that has taken place behind these beautiful detailed doors. You have put Malta on my bucket list and I can’t wait to roam and capture the beauty of these shadowed cobbled streets.

@Joe Allam ... I love Mdina and can't wait to get back there, but the Silent city itself is great to wander around without the traffic outside the city wall. There are places to eat (run by ousiders) that are lacking in people during siesta / closed time.

The reason its slower on single shot vs cont. is probably that you have clarity enabled. I think clarity automatically gets set to 0 for cont. shooting.

Have you been to Zanzibar (Tanzania)? they also have some amazing doors actually. Makes for a nice trip, Mt Kilamanjaro, the serenggeti, Zanzibar...

Hey Joe! Had the same issue with car parked on the streets last I went out to shoot in Notting Hill. Loved the colors and buildings but the cars drove me nuts. And looking up just ruins the verticals and symmetry… Can’t win 😩

Ah man, I had the same issue in Notting Hill. Went scouting for future video ideas a few weeks back and just couldn’t see past the cars and wheelie bins everywhere 😔

Great video. Here’s an idea for a challenge…. Set a fixed iso and work with it adapting the aperture and shutter speed.

If you tweaked the clarity settings it takes longer to process. In burst mode clarity doesn’t work

Shutter type Joe? Electronic front curtain on?.. One of my older cameras used to do that with electronic front curtain and fine with it off, dunno about XT4 not got one to hand..

Nice music! I'm really getting really sick of the trend of KZbinrs using music with weird clicks and sounds sprinkled in otherwise decent music. Yes, it was new and cool at one point, but it's wearing thin. The music in this video is pleasant and chill to match the vibe of the video. Keep up the good work, and lets hope that the new variant doesn't curtail travel (or at least not for too long!)

If you have CLARITY on anything other than 0 it slows down the processing of pictures in the camera.

Totally agree with cars ruining the scene for photography. Same with street signs and ads on buildings. There are just so many ugly things in our environments that ruins photos.

Haha! I have a Canon A-1 above my desk that I look at everyday. We contemplated taking it for this trip, but didn’t want to overwhelm with too much gear/ideas for our first trip back. Will be taking it on the next trip though - hopefully it works alright!

@@joeallam Awesome. Probably should shoot a test roll around london to make sure it works before taking it on an adventure. Wouldn't want to a risk shooting a bunch of photos on a great trip only to then realise there is a fault with the camera afterwards. I've been shooting way too much analog in the past year and went deep into this rabbit hole lol. So if you have any questions I would love to help.
