Hi Kal So pleased that you liked our vlog, thank you. Yes it is along time but it does not feel like it. The great thing is we both enjoy boating more then ever and never take what we have for granted. In a few weeks time we will be releasing our favourite vlog so far. Cheers B & K 👍😎🌞

Hi Ade If you pick the right time of the year the Llangollen is superb. In peak season it does however get very very busy. Once 11 miles of it was given was given World Heritage status it became a "must visit" holiday destination. In a few weeks we will be releasing two of our all time favourite vlogs. Cheers B & K 👍🌞😎🍻

I can’t believe how quiet that Canal is after everything I’ve heard about it! I think your video will show that low season it’s definitely an option. I loved it when Bernadette was chatting to the lady at the lock it reminds me of my husband who seems to spend longer chatting than doing the lock and I’m patiently waiting. I once heard him telling folks Leonardo DaVinci had some complex drawings of lock systems in his collection, they were enthralled! I’m shouting shall just move on and you can catch up at the next lock (where you can give another lecture) 😁 it’s all part of Boating and he does love history so we’re both happy. Thanks again for another great video.

Hi Sylvia Be wary what you are told regarding this canal ☺☺ When up on the Llangollen, boat movement at Grindley Brook Locks was down 65% on a particular day. The breach on the Middlewich is also having an impact with quite a few large hire fleets on the Trent & Mersey not being able to send boats up the Llangollen, particularly in a one week hire. If you time it right, it is a great canal to visit. We have known Elsie since the late 70s when she first arrived at the small lockside pub. Since then we have spent many happy times in the Willey Moor and should be a "must visit" if you ever come up the canal. Communication is so important and for us and many others is part of the joys of boating, long may it continue. It is very easy to become isolated and alone on boats if you stop talking to people. As usual thanks for watching, a special vlog coming up next. Cheers B & K 👍😎🌞

Hi It is mostly a chilled out place to spend time but sometimes depending which area you are in it can get hectic and a bit rowdy. We hired many times in our early cruising years before finally buying our first boat. Things have changed but we still totally enjoy ourselves when out and about. Thanks for watching. B & K 👍😎🌞

Very good , i enjoyed that , looking forward to the next part of the Llangollen . When Bernadette is walking the tow-path to the next lock you want to give it some welly and make her pick up the pace , ha ha :-)

Hi Stephen Glad you liked it. Some of our favourite vlogs so far are coming in a few weeks time. If I did what you say I am pretty sure I would end up in the canal very quickly 😨. Sometimes Bernadette walks for miles (by choice) so I need to keep a nice pace so that I can glide into the locks without having to stop, it seems to work well. As usual thanks for watching. 👍😎🌞

Hello Again Cannot disagree, the scenery is stunning and it gets even better. We timed this trip very well, it was the quietest we have ever seen on the Llangollen so we made the most of it. Thanks for watching B & K :-)

Hi Stuart Glad you are still liking the vlogs. 😊 We have quite a few more Llangollen videos to come including some filmed in glorious hot sunshine which was a bonus considering the time of year. Thanks for watching. B & K 👍🌞😎

Great stuff. I'm keen to see from Whitchurch to Chirk. Any idea how long that takes at 4hrs driving per day ? Thanks guys

Pearson Canal Companions are the best canal guide for holidays by far. If you insert Pearson Canal Companion in the Google search bar, go to Amazon UK and select Welsh Waters Extended 10th Edition for £11.95 you will have all the details you need including how many hours to cover a certain area. If you never stopped it is around 12hrs from Chirk to Whitchurch (Grindley Brook). We would be very surprised if in glorious weather you only travelled 4hrs per day so suspect you will end up going at least through Wrenbury before turning back. In our trip we went up to Frankton Junction and onto the Montgomery Canal so you will not see the first 4hrs of your journey starting at Chirk. Cheers 👍

Hi Bernadette and Keith. Just keeping up to date with you. As always really interesting. Couple more questions. Bernadette's multiplier - where did you buy it, we want to make sure we get the right one. Stuart would also like your advice on side fenders. Do we pull them up when we go into locks - need your experience once again. Thanks so much. Judi and Stuart
@TheTillerPeopleNarrowboaters6 жыл бұрын
Hello Judi and Stuart Easy one first - the windlass is called a Lockmaster and can be found via the link below: www.lockmasterwindlass.co.uk Side Fenders - frowned upon by many but we would never be without. We have been asked quite a few questions about side, bow and stern fenders. So during summer when we get a nice day we are going to make a vlog about fenders and ropes, it will suprise quite a few people. 😨 As always thanks for watching. B & K 👍😎🌞

Good quality video Mike must be to good picking up too much traffic noise still enjoyed it thanks
@TheTillerPeopleNarrowboaters6 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul We wanted microphones that picked up everything and we certainly have that. 🙉 If you could not hear the traffic you would not hear the water, the wildlife and ourselves talking. We have a professional microphone which not only stops the vast majority of wind noise it picks up all ambiant noise. In effect what you hear is exactly what we hear without compromise. Also our noise sensor for videos stayed in the green and amber so the sound remained pure. Hope that makes sense, at least most of the time we are not so close to the roads. Thanks for watching. 👍😎🌞😆
