Living on a Narrowboat. The truth, the chaos and the madness!
How easy did we think #boatlife would be for us?!
This week we get stuck in to cleaning out the cobwebs from our #narrowboat and try to figure out where all of our boxes from our old house will actually go. Can we even fit this stuff in?!
Whilst adjusting to life in our #tiny home, stepping over boxes, eating with baby spoons and piling up anything we can in the space we have, we quickly discover that our boat is #leaking .
Is this going to be our new norm?!

I just had your channel pop up on my recommended, & I’ve just sat here with a warm cup of milky horlicks like a grandma, lol, watching both of your beautiful videos & I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed them. I have 2 chronic genetic disabilities, I’ve had to come to terms with letting go of a lot of my dreams for practical reasons, but I have the fondest memories of narrowboat trips growing up, lazy days on the river during spring & summer with my brothers friends narrowboat, going out as a family. I was fortunate enough to grow up on a farm surrounded by wildlife, my heart is in the country & nature, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I smiled when you panned over your beautiful narrowboat, or over to the trees, watching the winter sun peak through, isn’t it just beautiful? I’ll be living vicariously through the both of you. It’s so lovely seeing a young couple get out of the ‘rat race’ & just take a big leap of faith to follow their dreams. I lost my beautiful mum very suddenly 12 months ago, & when you lose someone suddenly like that, it really opens your eyes to how short life can be. Grasp it with both hands. I’m honoured to be on this journey with you, & I absolutely love the way you vlogged - don’t change a single thing! So much love & blessings to you both on your new adventures! 💗 xx

We were both working ALL the time to pay huge bills and an ridiculous mortgage… and at the end of the day we found we had a nice house but no spare cash to do anything nor enjoy the house we spent all our week paying for! We both met whilst travelling and we craved those more relaxed and carefree times, but still wanted a home base and then came up with the idea of living on a narrowboat! I am so pleased we did! We will share the full story in future episodes! But yes… life is too short to live on the hamster wheel.. we wanted to live life on our terms!!! ❤️

I sure hope you got a better tarp than those u just used !! To leave a reply so quickly was awe inspiring for me. I’ve sat here for weeks after a serious illness with Sepsis diagnosis and I’m now in a nasty flare up of osteoarthritis which needs Oramorph and fentanyl patches watching you two. I’m so jealous I’m crying I’m 71 and sick of life as it is. You go guys do it now. I’m determined to get better and smile but it’s hard very hard. Little lights please be bright…yah see in the cupboards…way to go …..Sunset walk…I’ve open fields behind me with muntjac, feed the foxes every night too….no wild birds as Harris hawks visit scare the life out of my budgies and me when it lands on the flight. Hi enjoyed the vlog If you stern bilge is filling with water check your stern gland make sure it is topped up with grease turn the handle till it tightens after each time your prop shaft has turned that is where the water is probably coming through the stern gland unless it is rain water if so check any drain holes.

Excellent channell .although I am past narrowboat living my son has been living on the kand a mainly for 5 years.he is a tree surgeon and gets all his work close to the network and is in great demand always.he doesn't possess any wheeled transport not even a pushbike and uses trains mainly if he needs to travel on land.being a ccer he moves about a lot and manages to get the vast majority of his work near moorings.his way maýnot suit a lot of people but he loves it and obviously lives very cheaply.best of luck in your venture and I shall follow your adventures.

New subscriber here, love the new journey you're on. Have you thought of led strip lights (they come in all lengths)? you get them in battery and USB, attach them with velcro and here in SA they are dirt cheap. What I like about it, is that you can hide them behind the inside edge of the cupboard and run them the whole length of the cupboard and even get the type that has a pressure switch that comes on as soon as the cupboard door opens and release the button that gets pushed in when you close the door again, thus switching it off. It is a game-changer as it illuminates the whole cupboard not only one spot. Dont worry its not flashing or christmas lighty lol its just a stable light scource. I had to switch to LED as i have Photosensitive epilepsy that is triggered by any type of flashing even the type that is caused by dips in powersupply. Spoons. Tesco have pretty decent Tea Spons (80p for 4) and Dessert/Soup Spoons for a bit more. Somehow a load of Spoons did a disappearing act (failed to find them in the Dishwasher) and they work just like Spoons are supposed to. Bob. 👍

How lucky you are to have that efficient Reflex Diesel stove with radiator heating, which should keep your boat warm and toasty throughout without the uneven heat and the ash dust that a wood, coal stove produces.
