Thank you for this video! My partner and I are considering getting a 47ft narrowboat with the same bedroom layout as yours and we can see there have been issues with mould on the wall side of the bed - so this was exactly what we needed to see! Fingers crossed it works as well for us 😅

I use the Karcher after showers to remove excess water, check out the Max Air fans as used in the American RV's. The Lunos air exchange system is apparently good but not cheap. x.

You could fit two van fans in the ceiling, one at each end of the boat, one drawing air in, the other expelling air out, so there would be a flow of air ventilating through the length of the boat.

No idea if it's a diesel stove thing but only time I get condensation is after doing a big wash load or a long shower. Frame transfer is it, never anything on a window.

A BIG WARNING! If you start a suction-fan it creates a low pressure inside the boat that may suck the combustion-gases from the fire in to the boat, in an extreme case it may suck the flames in to the boat. One solution is to use a stove with separate air intake from the outside, but that would not solve the issue with potential gas leakage. When combining fans with combustion the proper road is to get a stove with outdoor air-intake in combination with balanced ventilation, that is matched extractor-fan and inlet-fan. When it comes to the thing with using an inlet-fan (what ever the correct name is) that pushes air in, the thing is that it pushes the moist air in to what ever path the air finds, generally causing condensation at unintended places. The classical thing on yachts is to put a radiator under the bunk, with air-holes in the side. possibly with an air gap along the hull side. Why are you not running the compressor dehumidifier constantly (besides the noise when working from home)? The electricity you put in heats the boat, and the latent heat released when the moister condensates also heats the boat. If I remember correctly from the data sheets you get the same amount of heat from the moisture as from the compressor if the dehumidifier is running at full capacity. (In sahara you would only get the electric part.) I installed a shower cabin with a roof in a house. That makes marvels to the amount of steam in the bathroom since the steam condenses at the walls and roof. (With out dripping down ;-) )

Thanks for another informative and highly watchable vlog, you guys are brill! Anyone have any experience/opinions on the 'Aero 360' moisture absorbing gadget by Unibond..? Am hopefully on the verge of buying my own narrowboat and will be a liveaboard...keen to keep on top of condensation etc before it starts to cause problems, so will be trying a few of these tips for sure!

A great method is salt cheap as chips put salt in a dish place around boat works a treat

Don’t know if you’ve tried small tubs of salt for condensation,it works in caravans should work in a narrow boat 👍

It really works my mum used to use little tubs of salt in the caravan ,old wife’s trick salt drys the air in the narrow boat . Good luck. Happy safe Xmas 👍

The instant pot claims to draw 100amps peak. Do you know what it averages over a full cook? Edited to add: ahh I see having watched the whole video, that you don't do the numbers thing. Perhaps someone else knows?

steve steve 10 amps maybe- that would be 2400 watts at the UK voltage. 100 amps is 24 kw, roughy equivalent to the power requirements of ten domestic ovens...
