The lush green over the narrow waterway was so beautiful. You are right about it seeming so English--I half expected to see a few hobbits walking the towpath and a sign pointing towards the Shire. In my mind when I imagine myself on a narrowboat, that is the kind of scenery that comes to my mind (along with the other side of it, way out in the countryside with green hills and sheep!!!). Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter Dog. What a lovely cruise you had in this Vlog. You came across some narrow locks, I noticed a couple of bumps, was that because the lock entrances were so narrow, and it's hard to gauge the gap from the stern of the boat. I agree with Paul, Overgrown is nice. Love listening to you both taking about the birds you see. You certainly know your bird species. Very impressive. I thought Paul's comment about your deep sleep was funny. Always love your banter. "Love Tunnel in Blackpool"! I love Blackpool. There is nothing better than walking along the prom (in Blackpool) eating Fish and Chips out of newspaper (as one used too many years ago). I'm with Dexter for having a nap when you can. He seemed very chilled and content as always. I always like it when you sound your horn of your impending arrival at a tunnel, bend etc. The English looking scenery. Anthony, your new bike is brilliant. It has style just like the owner. Love the colour too. Take care. Spoolbox.

Love the country side ❣️ The first lock @Wolverley that was all red brick is just beautiful- when a lock closes unexpectedly and you’re a continuous cruiser are you still expected to keep moving, by turning your boat around and heading in the opposite direction to where you want to go, or is there more leeway that allows you to moor longer while waiting for the lock to re-open? I can’t imagine not having a look when a boat passes by - maybe we all have a little boat spotter in us ! 😄

Hey Katherine. It was stunning on the canal. Loved it. If there is an unexpected lock closure and it stops you progressing, then you could contact CRT to say you need an overstay. They are usually ok when you keep them informed. Definitely a little boat spotter in us all. Have a great weekend ❤️

Beautiful scenery on this cruise, looks strange when there’s not much green here anymore. The bike looks like a great one for rough riding on some paths. I’m just getting over stomach flu, that was a miserable surprise when it hit. Thought it might have been food poisoning at first but then granddaughter got it too and we’d not had anything the same to eat. Then headache, fever and aching started. Hope you are all well. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Absolutely gorgeous part of the canal...wow. Thanks for sharing. On a side note, maybe you already have but, have you considered installing a camera at the front of the boat to help seeing around sharp corners and such? With all the backup/dash and other types of security camera's available these days, it should be easy to do and I'm sure you could even do wireless to make it even easier. What a lovely canal. So much fun meeting up with friends. Tried to talk the hubby into renting a narrow boat while we have a layover for a week in England between the Queen Mary 2 and the Regal Princess. He said NOOOOOOOOO. (So, I booked a P&O Cruise....) I look forward to our 5 days in port at Southampton in June and would love suggestions from you two about places to visit for day trips by train or rental car.

Great vlog as always lovely sounds and sights you are so lucky to have a different views most days I would love to have that more dexter please did you see that dog on mortal news in week its about actor's who have passed away but this week it was about a dog that's just died at the great age off 25 years and 138 days oldest dog in the world tell your boat is getting older as you don't swear at each over after bumping it have great weekend and week stay safe guys

It just clicked, your greener boat, in more ways than one with the colour. Havent got a canal guide covering where your going but do look at my framed big canal map on my wall. Clare Balding is very talented and comes across as lovely person, she does sport but I love her on Crufts. Some of the canal was very narrow so lucky it wasnt a busy cruise, but lovely scenery along the route. The ebike is so much more robust for the tow paths, looks very sturdy, a great find. Nice to be back on the cannals with you three, happy crusing , keep warm xxx

What amazing video footage of the canal! Again, the video, narration, and information is always superb. It really did look as if the canal had grown over with vegetation at one point. So green and lush. Thank you for listing the guidebook number! The canal lock names help too. I would really enjoy a pint at The Lock Inn, how do you say ‘gonguzaling’ watching the boats rise and fall while enjoying a pint or three. Stunning canal. I think if you two won the lottery you would still be on the canals. Nice bike Anthony do be careful so many stories in the news of electric bikes catching fire - I think its when they are left charging rather than been watched and turned off when the battery is full.

Thanks for sharing information about the new bike. I'm considering options to purchase my first e-bike or a swytch. Any advice? Also, love the new titles that share the names/titles of bridges, etc.... my husband and I always try to follow along in the canal guides. This made it easier to follow along.

Hey Sheila. No worries. I have a Swytch on my Brompton and it is great piece of kit but the Brompton just won’t cope with the tow path. Swytch do kits for all sorts of bikes and is a cheaper option for an e-bike. Glad you like the new titles. We really have been lucky to visit some lovely canals this year. Have a great weekend ❤️

I see you were sporting your team morning star pink crew shirts again! You’re going to have to coordinate a bit better lads ! I must say I’ve never seen you bump your boat so much! Those locks looked sooooo narrow though I’m not surprised there was some argy bargy! Regarding Anthony’s bike , it look grand but heavy. If you would prefer to use your existing Brompton , check out a small Scottish company called Kinetic cycles in Glasgow , run by a guy called Ben cooper. He makes wider rear triangles and forks for Bromptons so you can fit whatever wheels and tyres you like. Just saying. Great vlog ☮️

Hi Anthony Paul and Dextor I am doing some Catchup at the moment looking at videos when you had your first Narrow boat all brilliant by the way i was wondering if you had to reverse a narrow boat for some distance would you have less steering at the Tiller and have to depend on the Bow thrusters more

Hey. Thanks for watching from the beginning. Great question. You have no to little steering in reverse. Bow thrusters certainly make it much easier but it is possible without but you would have to correct the bow position using the tiller and forward throttle. Glad you are enjoying the vlogs. Cool piece of canal. exceptionally pretty and scenic all the time. Im interested in the ebike as well, (im a bike journalist). How much you pay for it? how you finding it? How much did it speed up you riding from one spot to the next to recover the van?

Cheers Alex. Loved that stretch of canal. The bike is brilliant. So much better on the tow path. Had a Brompton (which I loved) but wasn’t sturdy enough on the tow path. The bike was about £700 second hand. Definitely makes retrieving the van easier. Hope you have a great weekend ❤️
