I'm glad these are relatively affordable. I'm considering getting Galapagos since mine is probably like 5+ yrs old 😬 and I still use it a ton. It's probably my favorite eyeshadow ever, in the history of all time because it's so versatile. The old formula is at least. Since you like cooler tones, I recommend the matte color Blondie. It's my every day transition/crease color because it's neutral enough that it goes with everything. If you're looking for that kind of thing, which you probably aren't lol

I bought the retrouve cleanser and have been loving it. They sent a sample of the revitalizing eye concentrate. It’s amazing I love it. It’s a balm instead of cream and wow is it expensive but I feel like it has really helped with the dry under eye area and dark circles. Not sure if you have tried it yet.

I was so looking forward to your review of the NARS shadows. I went to my local Lord & Taylor and had a makeup artist apply Alahambra duo with the new tinted base in medium. I think the base is good to even out my lid since I have such darkness and my eyes are dry as well. I liked the feel of the shadows and was thinking since they do pop out, I can create my own compact. I love the Tulum shade. As someone posted, it reminds me of BB Camel, which i have used in my crease. FYI, just saw on the NARS site there are new pressed powders. I may have to do a little damage.

Hey Michele, would do a video on eyeshadow brands(?) for beginners? You touched on it in this video, but maybe it would useful to have a dedicated video for those who want to play with color and not be scared away simply because they unknowingly picked out shadows that may be aimed towards more advanced users for example. Does this make sense?

I'm glad you used that Tulum shadow because on the Nars website, it looks like a dark brown- I really like this color, as well! Is the color Stud more of a taupe shade or warmer or cooler? Hard to tell. I think I lighter gold would be pretty with the Tulum shade... It looks like it follows the color scheme of the ND Gold Palette. Thanks for a nice review. I"ve always been a Nars fan until I used ND shadows.. I prefer a softer shadow, but these aren't bad. Maybe I"ll try them again since being reformulated.

I have used Smashbox Eye Primer for years and I haven’t seen any reason to change. But I noticed another beauty vlogger has used Shape Tape, which I have but which is waaaaay too heavy for me to wear under eye, and I might try that. Those NARS shadows look beautiful on you! But I’ve gotten away from singles because it’s simply easier to grab a palette or two than to sift through a bunch of singles for my eye look. Especially when I’m in a hurry. Maybe if I popped them out and put them all in a magnetic palette.......is there one of those you’d reccomend?

I love that Nars shadows now have that opening at the bottom to pop out and insert into a magnetic palette. With that being said I would really love if Nars would just offer the shadows without the compact, since I would be throwing the compact away and seems like such a waste.

@@catnip4587 I've heard that people have not complained about it enough to push Nars in that direction and that's why they haven't gone that route, which I guess it makes them happy, more money in there pockets. They would have to reduce the price of there shadows if they were sold without the compact.

Nars does kind of have that option on their website. They have an option to build a pro palette. You can buy the pans with a magnetic palette or individually. They have eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters, bronzers, and contour powders available. However, not all of their colors are available as pans, they aren't much less expensive than buying them in the compact, and I'm not sure that they are in the new formula.

@@teufel75 Yes I saw the yesterday, it's a shame that they only have a limited amount of colors to choose from, I wish you had the option to all the eyeshadow colors Nars has in there collection, maybe someday they'll change that.

Temptalia has been reviewing every shade. There are a number of really well performing shades, but some that are not so good. You will have to try each shade individually to make sure.

I had a chance to see these in person in the Nars Soho store and they do feel great. Very pigmented...I passed because I have so many browns already in my palettes and none of the other colors seemed unique enough when compared to Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath. Again absolutely nothing wrong with Nars...I just have too much in my collection to add more right now...that said, these look great on you and I appreciate your review. I always value your opinion.

Do they have the same amount of product in as the previous style of packaging as they look a lot smaller. Have to say, I’m not a made fan of this new packaging. Looks clunky and not as sophisticated as the previous one with the curved edges.

I read on Temptalia that they are smaller. The singles are now 0.04 oz vs. 0.07 oz in the old formula. The duos are now 0.08 oz vs. 0.14 oz in the old formula.

Pretty much. If there's a price difference, it's a slight one. They're charging $19 for a single and $35 for a duo. The Viseart eyeshadows and Natasha Denona eyeshadows both cost less than a quarter of what they're charging for Nars by weight. Pat McGrath eyeshadow costs about 60% of what Nars is charging by weight.
