This feels natural. I do believe this is the best possible outcome for Naruto as well but sadly, they can't do this because they'd overpower the other characters. This duo has such strong presence so I guess they had to distribute that. So Naruto to Hinata and Sakura to Sasuke. It's the only reason I can see. After all the build-up of NaruSaku and it didn't end as expected, this is the most sound reason I can think of.

@Jaq it's really because of popularity, naruhina and sasusaku are/were the top 2 most popular het ships for naruto, so they went with those pairing thinking theyd get more popularity=money.

Sakura considers naruto as best friend and she only loves Sasuke, she left everyone in order to go with sasuke on his trip if she loved him she would have stay with him but she left everyone like Ino, Naruto, Hinata, etc to go with sasuke

NaruSaku will always be the best ship for me, it just feels so natural, and not forced in any way. NaruHina shippers will always yell in my face and say: "wEll nAruhINa iS caNOn", but I genuinely don't care. Not to mention the constant "useless sakura" shit pisses me off. Sure, Sakura was pretty useless in part 1 of Naruto, but she grows into being an incredible ninja, without being the reincarnate of gods like naruto or sasuke, or being from a shinobi clan like literally all the other rookies (minus lee and tenten). She just happened to get grouped up with people who are practically gods, destined for power, and people hate on her for it. I really hope that Naruto: The Last, and the Boruto series end up just being part of Hinata's infinite tsukuyomi dream or something. That is my only hope at this point. I used to hate on people for only watching Naruto for the fights, but now it seems like i'll have to become one of those people, since the story of Boruto will always be irrelevant to me, since I don't want to watch a series about a snotty brat, who came from a ship that never made any sense whatsoever. While i'm ranting, I might as well address Naruto: The Last, and it's logic behind NaruHina. How tf and I supposed to believe that Naruto was in love with Hinata the whole time, but didn't know it was love because he can't differentiate love love, from ramen love. Did they think that made sense? Because no, it doesn't, moving on to our next point, Naruto sees Hinata's memories through genjutsu, which makes him see how much Hinata 'loved' him, and that somehow makes him love her back???? First off, Kurama should have expelled the genjutsu the moment Naruto was caught in it, second of all, Hinata's 'love' for Naruto was more a middle school crush that she never let go of, and third of all, what sort of obligation did naruto feel to love her back, because from what I understand from the movie, he basically got guilt - tripped hard, memory style. Not to mention, the movie completely makes up interactions between Naruto and Hinata, just to justify their 'relationship'. One of them was Hinata being bullied (generic af), and Naruto trying to save her with Shadow Clones (which he shouldn't' t know yet, since he only learned that when he stole the scroll for Mizuki). Now before y'all hinatards that want to justify this by saying "naruto already knew shadow clone jutsu since they taught that in the academy, he just learned **multi** shadow clone jutsu from the scroll" (FYI I found this argument on a reddit post, can't make this shit up). Lemme adress this real quick. Naruto does the kage bunshin no justu handsigns AND LITERALLY YELLS OUT "KAGE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU!!!" This just goes to show how they will bend the rules of the narutoverse in order to get their precious NaruHina justifications. It makes EVERYTHING that Naruto ever did for Sakura meaningless, all the parallels between Minato and Kushina, Obito and Rin, all thrown out the window, for Naruto to get married to some pairing fodder with some big titties. Like seriously?!?!? What about that moment where Sai confronted Naruto about him being in love with Sakura, and Naruto saying that he won't confess his feelings until he brings Sasuke back? Does that moment just not exist now? How about when he didn't tell Sakura about the beating he received from Karui, just so she wouldn't worry. Neji literally died for minor NaruHina development. They didn't need to kill him, since the outcome would've been the same, Naruto: The Last happens, and their bullshit 'naruto doesn't know what love is' logic hits, and NaruHina still happens. So WHY?!? Not to mention, that moment where hinata slapped naruto? Sorry to crash ur party hinatards, but that moment was copied from when Sakura did that to Naruto, in early Shippuden (like around the team 7 + Chiyo vs fake Itachi fight I think, could be a little later). Not to mention right after Hinata slapped naruto, she was thinking about Naruto's "big warm hands" while Neji's still fresh corpse was laying on the ground. NaruSaku should have been canon, I rest my case. Sorry for the rant, just needed to get all that off my chest, and I still have more I could write. But y'all have a nice day. when people say siblings....just tells me they don't have real siblings. Naruto and Sakura were not siblings. Naruto was deep down in love with Sakura. If Kishi wasn't a terrible writer, Sakura should have grown out of her child hood crush, and Naruto should have never given up. But all of it just to make Boruto happen for another writer, which turned out shitty as well.

The only explanation I can come up with is that Naruto ain't the child the prophecy it was his father Minato, and the choice mentioned in the prophecy about Jiraiya was to tell them the prophecy are not to tell, basically kind of like a Kronos situation.

Akansha rao it would be a sin if Hinata didn't end up with Naruto after all she's done for him. But I don't blame you tho, Kisimoto should've put Hinata as main heroine at least from Pain's assault. The love triangle between Naruto-Hinata-Sakura would've been more realistic and interesting if Sakura fell for Naruto while Naruto has fallen for Hinata, that's where Sasuke returns and cheers Sakura to gain her love back. That way we don't need The Last Movie to understand why Naruto ended up with Hinata especially for those who only read the original manga. That's my opinion.
