I remember getting to this part as a kid and getting absolutely hyped when I heard the main theme play. I was excited to fight against Kabuto........ He then proceeded to kick my ass mercilessly

i remember beating him first try as a kid and thought it was a let down of a final battle. Then i replayed the game a couple years later and couldn't beat him to save my life

This was the fight where I had to learn new moves and found down punch + special was the best way to combo him

Kabuto was the strongest in this game. The devs messed up with the his regeneration mechanic being unlimited. We had to ban using him when having multiplayer hangouts.

Yep. While it made some sense for a medical ninja to have the ability to heal, Kabuto's healing in this game was beyond generous. As a final boss, this actually made more sense, and at least Naruto is given the Rasengan permanently to increase his damage output - although Kabuto's other boss-related buffs still made him a considerable challenge. As a standard character, however, the healing alone puts Kabuto into "broken" status, and this is also not even factoring his non-healing tech, which I believe was also questionably strong in this game. Part of me believes he was programmed originally as a boss first, only for the development team to not get around to balancing him out for standard play. If the Wii had the storage for patches, I'm almost certain Kabuto would have gotten the nerfs he needed, but that wasn't to be. Oh well. At least I thoroughly enjoyed kicking his butt with Awakened Hinata.

The theme song is epic, but the fight was an ass-pull. It was shoved in just so we can have a final boss fight with Naruto involved. There was no build up to ANYTHING regarding Kabuto AT ALL!!!

Actually, he WAS foreshadowed. He was talking with Bando in a cutscene at one point, as a silhouette. As a result, I saw him coming as a boss that needed to be taken down sooner or later. Turned out he was the perfect final enemy.

@@joshuabeaton5860Exactly. The implication being he, and Orochimaru, were using Bando and Kagura the entire time. It was another ploy on their part to destroy the Leaf Village. I really wish they added in some foreshadowing to Kabuto’s takeover of Orochimaru’s power though. Seeing him acting on his own was a great time to characterize him, although I get that there wasn’t any time for that given the nature of the game’s short cutscenes.

This theme was fire but the Fight itself was no scratch that all the bosses in this game were total bullshit your character’s all have the same health level but for some shitty reason the bosses all do double damage while you only deal like an inch of health
