Actually the sharingan can copy and see through Taijutsu. The thing is that in this fight, Lee far outclasses Sasuke In speed. Sasuke was able to track Lees movements using his sharingan, but he couldn’t counter Lees attacks because he himself wasn’t fast enough to do it. Hope this explains some things

I've always loved the end of the episode, 13:50, when Naruto checks Sasuke's ego a little bit. He's Sasuke's closest friend even if he doesn't act like it, so I really love it when either of them is able to put the other in their place. Love your reaction guys! Can't wait for the next episode! And believe me, Sakura gets more tolerable as time goes on, I promise! XD

The sharingan can analyze and anticipate almost any movement. Sasuke saw Lee's attacks coming but still wasnt able to dodge/block them because he simply wasnt fast or strong enough

The interesting aspect of lees character is you can tell hes not inherently arrogant or over estimates his ability. He only ever underestimates himself to motivate himself to train. So, the fact that he won so easily against sasuke, even after saying he knows he is better. It tells you exactly where rock lee is in his own mind, where he ranks himself. Him wanting to fight neji because it woudl be difficult. But also wondering that sasuke being so naturally talented would hold a candle to nejis level of skill, him needing to check for himself is rad. He didnt do it to show off, he didnt do it out of anger or hatred. He has so much to prove to himself while everyone else is trying to prove themselves to other people, and thought sasuke could be a possible step in his training. Hes such a transparent character that its refreshing for a series with so much mystery and backstory for characters that keeps you guessing. We know what lee is about, and he knows it himself. One of the few characters introduced with his character development already over.
