Betraying the Shinju will backfire extremely. If they weren't on the path of total destruction before, they'll be afterwards. I'm also under the impression that some talk-no-jutsu about philosophy and the human condition would have worked wonders.

I’m actually happy they went this route it shows the contrast between Naruto and Shikamaru Hokage plus it’d make no sense for any of them to fight shinju head on except maybe Sage Mituski

Love this chapter so muchh. Reminds of Chimera Ants. But im scared the betrayal mission will trigger all the problems, what Kawaki said in Ep. 1 “the age of shinobi is over” might be cause of this Shikamaru decision. They shinju will turn bad cause of this
