You know, re watching the show now, this development for kabuto makes a lot of sense him mirroring people, first of all being a spy, he has to blend in with the citizens of a group not only that, but when he met his "mother", she gave him her glasses, so it was like he was indirectly adding a part of her to him, just like he ended up doing here with all these people I've never realized how deep his character is

Fr. Kabuto probably has the most parallels in the series with characters after Naruto and Obito. And yet, somehow he’s so overlooked. Even rewatching/rereading the series fully aware of what he becomes, he never stands out but there is a lot of subtle foreshadowing you notice which is part of what his character is meant to be. It’s like Kishi wrote him that well so subtly and incorporated him into the story, fully intending for him to be an underrated character.

Yes the two forbidden genjustu from the base sharingan. Izanagi and izanami. Izanagi allows the user to rewrite reality for a short period of or longer for madara and tobi. It’s usually used to rewrite your own death and erase it so that you never died in the first place. Izanami was the counter to the izanagi which allows you to create a planned sequenced of events and trap a person inside their own mind with an infinite loop. And yes the only way to escape it is to accept yourself and understand yourself and your true identity. Hence why it was the perfect counter for kabuto.

One of the crazy things about Kabuto, he could've just transferred Itachi or Sasuke's blood into his body and get his powers with that Sakon jutsu, yet he was so fixated in surpassing/copying Orochimaru that he wanted to do it the exact same way

Would Kabuto have had the blood of either of them? Itachi is almost a definite no unless somehow Orochimaru got it when Itachi was a child, but I doubt that. Itachi was in the Akatsuki since like 14, and when he died Tobi took the body. Sasuke could be a maybe, but that depends on if Orochimaru took any of his blood or not, and on whether Sasuke would have allowed that.

One thing most people don't remember is that Itachi does not WANT to fight Kabuto... he HAS to fight Kabuto to protect the leaf. The only way to protect the leaf is to undo the Reanimation Jutsu. And the only way to do that is by using Izanami. He is under Shisui's genjutsu right now from the crow.

I feel like Itachi has way more jutsu than he showed, because he studied the Uchiha/Hidden Leaf past so extensively. Tsukuyomi, then Amaterasu, then Shuriken technique, then Susanoo with Sword of Totsuka and Yata Mirror, then Yasaka Beads, and now Izanami. Every single fight, he introduced a new powerful jutsu. It makes sense that Itachi has these jutsu because he was shown to learn jutsu very quickly and it's implied/confirmed (someone probably knows more) that you can gain new jutsu by studying past Uchiha clan texts with your Sharingan. Also, Shisui mentored Itachi on a lot of different skills such as tracking and strategy. Itachi was such an incredibly powerful shinobi and I wish we got to see him battle without holding back at least once. He always held back.

Nonou. right? It's possible he couldn't locate her body or the necessary amount of DNA to resurrect her. She died in the Hidden Stone village so they probably had their own way of disposing of the bodies to where Kabuto couldn't obtain any DNA. Maybe cremation?
